Hi- I just joined this community and would like to welcome any questions or advice you have for me. I, like yourself, was a single teenage mom at the age of 17. I am now 28 with 2 daughters and married, but if you need any advice on being a single teen mom, I'm here. Look forward to hearing from you all.

Danica- I, like you had lots of help from the parents at first. It did not make it any easier though. I worked from 9am-4pm tue-sat and went to school from 5pm-10pm mon-fri, so my only day with my daughter was sunday, and trust me at times it was hard to tell my friends no when I knew I needed to spend QT with my child!! I was single till age 24. Now I'm 28 and happily married to the father of my second child. My best advice for you is to find someone to lean on, and I dont mean a man ( that could be more problems than you need, lol), whether its a family member or friend that can be there for any type of support whether it be emotional or just when you need a "mommy time-out". Hope this helps :)

I'm in college Mon Wed, and Friday 9-2 and working Mon-Fri. It's very very hard and a lot of time is takin away from spending quality time with your kid. I myself am a single mom but my parents are a hugee help when it comes to sitters. My babies dad is showing no effort so there's no help there. But it's tough you gotta do what needs to be done though. And for you Amber.. how long we're you a single mom for? And was it hard to get over not having someone there to help you with the kid when you went places. I always get upset because I see families or teens with kids and there family is still together. Or when I need diapers or food I have to drag her out and carry everything myself. It's just really hard for me to get over.. Any advice?

Did you ever work and go to school? I had my daughter at 15 [ a sophmore in high school] and I worked but not a lot.. Now that Im graduated I plan on going to nursing school but I want us to be out on our own too, therefore Im going to have to work..

So I was just wondering how you delt with that.. Like when it comes to having time to be with the kids and stay awake lol.
