I have an almost 5 year old son and 17 month boy/girl twins and I would like to try for another one or two. Needless to say we were shocked to find out I was having twins @19 weeks as there is no known family history of twins so I just likely got really lucky but I also have read statistics go up for the chances of having another set of fraternal twins just by having a set. Did your Dr. give you any specific statistics for second set of spontaneous fraternal twins? and If you conceived spontaneously without family history and ended up with two sets of twin I would like to hear too. Thanks!

I am 23 and i have 2 set of twins and a singleton. Yes they are natural. My frat girls are 6 and my b/g twins are 11mo and my son is 4.

Hi I also have 5. My kids are now 20, 17 and 15. I had one 1 B, BG twins, and then GG twins. When the youngest were born I had a 5yr old, 2 @ 11/2. 5 @ 5and under, 4 under 2. 4 in nappies. I find that the teenager years are harder the baby stage. I live in Australia, and also did it by ourselves.

at one point i had 5 kids all two and under, ugh! i don't even remember how i did it

Hi, my name is also Katie and I am new here too. I have 2yr old twins, a boy and girl and am 4 months pregnant with twins again. ( both sets natural ) We are very excited but it means I will have 4 under 2 1/2 yrs. I am sure our house will be very crazy. I live in Australia and am in a twins group here. Hi, I love being the mum to two sets of twins too! Love the look of surprise on people's face when you tell them. My eldest two are Ben and Holly who'll be 5 in July and my youngest are Jack and Aimee at 8 months. Have been so lucky as they've all had great natures.

Hi ladies, I am expecting identical twin girls mid-June, and have fraternal twin boys who are 2yrs3mths - I'm terrified!! I just remember how hard those first few weeks are (yes, it does get easier, doesn't it?!!) and I suppose I know what I'm doing second time around, right?!! Seriously, although I'm a little apprehensive, I'm also quite excited too! I can't wait to meet the girls - and looking forward to lots of PINK!!!

Hi there everyone... I have a 5.5 yo singleton boy 1 set of boy/girl twins aged 4 n 1 set of girl twins aged 8 mths. The babies were born 2 wks before my oldest boy turned 5 so i had 5 under 5.. just lol. My older sister also has a set of girl twins who just turned 11. Twins r regularly present thruout t generations in my family. N yeah needless to say NO MORE for us!! It is really great to see stories of other ppl having two sets of twins n it would be greatly interesting to see how many more r out there.. I live in a little town in nsw australia and my mother lives arould the corner so i am really lucky in the help dept. My partner is alo REALLY helpful, my family is absolutly gorgeous altho challenging, and i wouldn't have it any other way!!

I don't have 2 sets of multiples. however I have a 4yr old girl, 3yr old girl, and a set of twin girls who just turned 5mths. I always get asked if I have two sets of twins. I as you don't have daycare or babysitters. My husband and I both work full time. It is a hand full sometimes. But I wouldn't change it for the world. I love every crazy second of every crazy day!

Hi Everyone!  I am new and have 2 sets of b/g twins.  The first set will be 5 this month and the second set are 18 months.  So far, in my experience, it doesn't get easier, it just changes.  I bet once everyone is out of diapers, and throwing food at the table, and their teeth are all in - it will get better.  But for now, not easier, just new challenges. 

I actually work full-time from home and my mother babysits for us in our house.  It's great!  That way I can take a break and go out and play with them, help out with lunch, and then go back to work.  I am pretty lucky really. 

We live in the middle of Washington State and my husband is a farmer.  I have recently joined a Parents of Multiples club that is just getting re-organized.  It is not going very well.  I love reading about all of your lives & hope to see more soon!!

I am the proud stressed out mother of 5 children. My oldest daughter is 10. Then the 1st set of twins just turned 8 and they are girl/girl. The 2nd set of twins will be 3 in July and they are girl/boy. Both sets are without the help of any fertility assistance. I would be afraid to get pregnant again...my luck it would be like 3 or 4 the next time :)

Hi, I'm Andrea, mum of two sets of twins. Girl/boy of 6 years and girl/girl of 4 years. Had 1,5 year of changing over 25 diapers a day!! We moved to Tokyo when the girls were just 3 months (and the oldest 2 years old), so no family, no helper or anything for the first 6 months. After 6 months we found the best helper in the world. Now we are in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and have a great helper. I would absolutely recomment living as an expat with 2 (or more) sets of twins. No more logistic problems, and (a little bit) of free time to play with them seperately.

We still don't know if the girls are identical or fret. 80% of the time I can see directly who's who (so even I mix them up quite often). The doctors didn't do a test to find out as they were saying that it would be very unlikely to get identical twins after having a set of fraternal. But after reading your stories it might just be a good idea to get it checked!

Good to read stories of other mums in the situation! Do get a bit tired of "wow, 2 sets of twins, does it run in the family? (answer: no), IVF? (answer: no) Must have been shocked the second time (answer: no, thought it would be triplets) etc. All questions you al probably recognise! I still do want to find out if the fact that I was born in Nigeria (Yarobah-land has by far the highest percentage of twins in the world) has had any influence on having kids. I'm the only one of the family born there of a family of 80+cousins and the only one with twins!

No twins anywhere in either family and no fertility, I had my first set at 17, sinlge one at 18 and then my second set 23 being so young having so many was a challenge, but we made it through mostly intact

Hi my name is Julie im from Perth, Australia    ,My first set of twins are G/B and they are 23 now ..my second set of twins are B/B and they are going on 20..Both are fraternal .. I am a twin .. My twin brother has 1 set of identical boys as well.. I think many were scared to have childeren in the family,,lol You do  survive even the teenage years im not sure it helps being a twin myself  on how you look at things, i do know my Husband thinks they should do a study on him ..a singleton living with a house full of twins..

Hello i am new too. I have triplet boys Leo Ryleigh and Tristan. They were quads but 1 terminated itself at 9 weeks. They are not suppose to be identical but alot of people cant tell them apart. They are 4 years and 8 months. I also have Amy 16, Ricardo 11, Nico 9, Shakira just 3 and Brandon 11 months. It would would be great to swap stories and advice so i would love to join your group.

Hi there...Im Helen....I only have one set of twins, a boy and girl who are now nearly 16...my story though is similar to yours. Kate and Jordan are the only suriving set of twins from 5 sets of twins. My daughter Eliza who is nearly 19 was also part of a fraternal set, i lost her brother through an ectopic pregnancy. My son Andrew who is now 13, is the only suriving son of a set of fraternal triplets.



All were conceived naturally. By the time kate and Jordan came, we were informed by the doctors that we had a 100% chance of twins, 80% chance of triplets and 60% chance of quads...my husband fainted at that and never got to hear, we had a 0% chance of a singleton being born naturally.



I really wanted to congratulate you ladies on a brilliant job you all do...Keep up the good work and yes it does get easier as they get older!

Hi. I am new to the group. I have frat girls who are 3 and boy/girl twins who will be 2 in May. They are 20 months apart. LOL...I did have 4 under 2 for awhile. How does anyone survive this? And, I love the comment about "Jon and Kate". I thought I was the only one who could get so angry at a TV show that I never watch. I actually was told by someone to "have a 3rd set so I could go on TV."

Twins didnt run on eiher side, so we were in total surprise---BOTH times. And hence, why I got my tubes tied during the last C-section. And yes, going out usually make me feel like a freak show also. One of my older girls has CP and doesnt walk, so I use either a triplet or quad stroller. I cant tell you how many times I am asked if it was specially made for us.

And as for advice? Hmm... My hubby is military so I find myself a "single mom" alot. In fact he just got back from a 8 month trip. Learn calming breathing...lol and I take anti-anxiety/anti-depressants. Somehow we learn to cope with what we need to. I did the cry it out method and my kids sleep from 7pm-8am. Many people think that I am heartless to let my kids cry, but then again I am not "most" people. As long as it is that tempermental, moody cry, I really dont pay much attention to it.

But anyway....I am glad to find the group to get advice from. Again, its hard to explain something to a mom that really cant understand what you are going through.

I am sooooo thrilled that there are so many of us. Were you all told that the odds go up with each set of twins  and that you will have twins again? We always though oh maybe one more baby (how easy 1 would be) but the fear of twins a third time was too overwhelming!

I had 4 under the age of 3 too. It gets easier when they turn 2. Once I was able to get rid of the diaper bag and infant carseats! It gets easier each day. I look back now and think wow, how did I make it? I didn't have family help or nanny's or a tv show (Jon &Kate:)) to help.

I'm the mom of 2 sets also.  I have a set of identical girls that are 5,  a set of identical boys that are 3 and a 22 month old singleton boy.   Yes I did say two sets of identicals.  All are natural. 

I had 5 kids under the age of 3 when my last one was born and all were in diapers for a year.  I say that I must have pissed someone off up there for them to test me like this.  It's been alot for me since i was only 25 when I had my last one but it's been an adventure to say the least.

We are in the military, well my husband is at least and it's been even more challenging to make it all work on the little we make and the constant moving that we do across the country but we love it and wouldn't  change it for the world.

we are the proud parents 4yr old frat twin boys,and 18 monthold b/g twins.Oprah hasn't called us yet either,unless it's one of the messages I haven't gotten around to yet! We live in Maine,yeah all the questions and comments when we told everyone we were having our second set! I do have help though,he is my reluctant helper-he is my 15 yr old son! I'm sure I'd be bald without him! We didn't do anything extra to get ours,just ate alot of sweet potatoes! No more for us either,although when I think about it it does make me a wee bit sad,luckily I'm too busy to think about it alot! I also have 2 sets of twins! My first set is B/G twins that will be 3 in 2 weeks and then I have a set of boys that are also faternal that turned 1 in December. We are also asked all the question everyone else is asked. I can deal with those questions. But the questions that get me is when we are asked if the B/G set are identical. I am also glad that we had our kids so close in age. We also do it all by ourselves no nanny or babysitter just us. We live in a small town in Nebraska

My older boys are 3 and the baby boys are 8 Months. As many of you know having 4 kids 3 and under is interesting. Please send me some hope - at what age does it seem to get easier? I struggle with the fact that I can't manage all 4 in public by myself with the exception of 2 local parks at this point. With my first set I did everything without needing help, now everything has to be planned and I need back up to do simple things.

Hi! This is so cool! I have 2 sets too...Fraternal b/g 11 and identical girls 7.5. I have to say hearing I was having a second set of twins was the shock of my life. I had my first set after 4 1/2 years of trying and the second set after one month of trying (were we really trying?). I spend many days overwhelmed, but extremely blessed. I find the comment "Oh my gosh...how do you do it (uh, you just do)...I could never do that (uh, well, you would rise to the occasion!) to be crazy and I guess people just don't know what to say. Now that the kids are older, it doesn't look so obvious that they are all twins, but we usually travel with an extra one or 3 to everything...so I know we make a scene everywhere we go. I think having one baby at a time must be the easiest thing on EARTH (oh...that may be why I have a second set, I wanted that easy motherhood thing.). Okay...I could go on and on and on.

Kelly, I had my 5 within 2 1/2 yrs of each other. I had 2 boys and then 2 boys and a girl, so being able to pass down all of the big boys things to the little boys was a huge help.....not sure what the genders are of yours though. But, I think you will notice that the second set of multiples is easier than the first since you've already been there done that ;) If you have a baby shower, be very specific on what you do and don't need. The only thing I needed was girl clothes, so I asked for diapers....we just recently had to start buying them and the Triplets are 5 months old! It was a huge help!

The singleton was definately easier. Not sure why women complain so much about having one!!! So much more one on one time. If they cry in the middle of the night you always have the option of putting them in bed with you or rocking them to sleep. Options you do not have with two (although I do remember some rough days when I had to rock both twins all day). I do feel bad that he will be our only singleton.

i live in bristol ,England both sets were by c. section, the girls both breech and the boys both transverse!!!, dont know of jon and kate plus 8 is it a show in the usa? people do say funny things, after the second set they told us we were more likely to have triplets next time!!!

Mine are both fraternal. They were natural, no invitro. I was told that if I had any more it would be like 80% chance of twins again!

Yeah, we always get a million questions too. The funny thing is my husband's name is John and I am Katie, so we are John and Katie + 5 :). Are your twins identical or fraternal? Mine are both fraternal.

Yeah, we always seem like a freak show when out in public. People always have a million silly questions...A big one is "have you ever seen Jon & Kate plus 8?"
Like I'm sure most of you, I did it with out any help. Like a nanny, babysitter, etc. Just me and my husband!

Hi, My name is Katie, I am new here. I have a set of boys that are 9, a single daughter who is 5 1/2, and a set of boys who are 4. It is nice to see other moms with two sets of twins. People are always surprised when I tell them I have two sets of twins, especially because it doesn't run in the family.

Wow--Jennifer 4 kids under age 3, mine were 5 kids under age 5--I had 3 in diapers for awhile.

yes with the girls... they were only telling me the other day that they used to take in turns to own up to things depending on which one had the best reason not to get grounded!!!, its great to see how well they get on even though they are very different in likes and dislikes. one of them is married and has a boy aged 3 and another boy just 6 weeks old. still to survive the teenage years with the boys
