Since this post is so old this is for new visitors to this feed. Don't fret, just take good care of their teeth. My son turned 6 on Dec 2 2012 and he has 6 permanent front teeth, another growing in and the "partner" tooth of that one is loose. He lost his first tooth in preschool (3-4ish) and hasn't stopped. I will attest to the fact that it seems the earlier they come in the faster they fall out. He got his first tooth around 4 months and 20 teeth at 1! Just make sure you brush them very well, especially any permanent teeth being that they will potentially have them a little longer than their peers.

Dont worry my daughter who is six lost her first two teeth at age 4 and new teeth came at age 4.She lost another 2 at age five and another 4 at age 6.I think its normal because my eldest daughter lost her first 2 teeth at age 4 too.

Jade lost hers just before she turned 5. She just turned 6 and shes lost her two top teeth and few bottoms already. She has seen a dentist and they were surprised as her new ones were half grown in already underneath!! I guess it really depends on the childs development. I knew a mom who had a child born with 2 teeth just recently!

I think it is. My girt lost hers at five but since losing the one five more are gone in like 4 months! I think when its there time to go its there time to go just like getting them. Every child is unique on when they get there teeth. mine had her first four by four months. I also heard that the earlier they get them the sooner they lose them?-not sure if thats just a myth though?

My daughter lost her first one at 4. In pre-school, which was unusual for the teacher to see. The other kids in class got a real kick out of it and it was a good lesson for the teacher to teach too. She only has one more to loose on the first round. She gets regular cleanings since 3 y/o and her pediatric dentist says it is fine, however she did say that typically (not always) means early puberty. Her BD 3/26/04.

My son lost his first tooth just two months before he was about to turn 5 also. I was terrified because he came home from preschool with his tooth loose and shaky. The next day he came home, and his tooth was gone, I about had a panic attack. But i took him to the dentist and he said because he got his first tooth around 8 months, that it is common that he would start loosing his baby teeth early. He has lost his top two teeth and four on the bottom. Two of his bottom teeth have come back in...Yay!!

My daughter lost the first two teeth when she was 4 and a half. The doctor told me it is not very common, but sometimes it happens, no need to worry about this.

Normally it's between 5 and 6! Even better when it happens after 6, while they are in school. Did she use a lot of Pennisilen?

My daughter lost her first tooth two months before she turned 5. The dentist said all kids are different nothing to be concerned about she has already lost 4 and will not be 6 until June.

My daughter lost her first tooth 4 months before her 5th b-day. Her dentist noticed that it was loose at her check-up. He told me that it was fine and they took x-rays and there were permanent teeth coming behind them. So she has now lost 3 of her bottom teeth and she is 5 1/2. She did loose them early but there is not a concern from her dentist so I am ok with it.

HI, MY DAUGHTER JADE IS LOSING HER FIRST TOOTH AS WELL AND SHE IS ONLY FOUR AND HALF YEARS OLD. I THINK IT'S EARLY TO BE LOSING A TOOTH ALREADY. MY OTHER CHILDREN DIDN'T LOSE TEETH UNTIL THEY WERE SIX. I WILL BE AT THE DENTIST MORE FOR EXTRA CHECK-UPS.

My son is 5 and has his first loose tooth. I took him to the dentist(he needed a cleaning anyway) The dentist said 5 is not the average age but it depends on the child. My son began teething earlier than the average so it just makes sense that they would start coming out earlier than the average.

My daughter just lost her first tooth just 2 months after turning 5. I was very concerned at first because preschool seems way too young and because my son was 6 1/2 before his started falling out. It's not the norm but it does happen. No need to worry :)
