my son and i were laying on mybed watching treehouse, when next thing i knew i was woken up from a thump and a lot of crying, how do i know hes going to be ok?, is there anything i should watchout for in the next several hours?

aww don't feel too bad. my son has done that a couple of times when he first learnt to crawl and get about. i would put him with me and then end up falling asleep only to be woken up when he had fell off the bed. when it first happened i also paniced loads. i ended up phoning the oncall doctor. i was told to do a body check for bruising and make sure that he could move joints without pain. i was worried about his head and was told that if he was responsive and seemed his normal self then it was most likely he would be fine. babies as i have found out are very resilient but it is always best to get things checked if you are worried. for a few months after my son did this i began putting pillows and soft toys around my bed so if he fell again it would be a softer landing. hope y our little one was all right in the end.
