I have 11 kids and they're ages are 17,15,13,11,8,6,4,3 yr. twins,22 months and 7 wks. I get no help from either side. I don't even talk to my side of the family and hubby only talks to his family every so often. My hubby comes home after little ones are in bed and often works weekends as well. So basically it's just me.lol.

Hello I am very new to this but thought it would be a good idea to join a group that can relate to my concerns. I am 33 (34 in June) and have 4 kids... 1 son, 2 step-daughters and my husband and I have a 1yr old daughter together. My husband and I want jus one more. Im a little scared because 5 kids seem like a lot. I worry sometimes what my family will think or being judged by others. I know thats crazy but that is a real concern of mine. I just needed to read and see how the other families are juggling 5 kids.

Brittany - I'm in the exact same boat, but you just have to focus on the positive and they will come around. I try not to let others get me down or worry me. God has a plan and that's the one that counts. :)

But I got used to not having help and just saw it was a blessing to be given my 5 girls. As its jot always smooth sailing. We love our big family

Brittnay- I absolutely understand how you feel. I feel that way sometimes as well. But whether you have one kid thats crying hysterically or 5 behaving well, people will act like they never seen kids before and look at you like you did something wrong. If I feel like someone is eyeballing me and my fam ill act a lil silly with them, give them something to look at!!

I have 4 children ages 7, 6, 3, & 2 the oldest is a boy and the rest are girls. I am quite certain our 5th bundle is on his or her way but not sure yet. My husband works very long hours and I am a stay at home mom. If indeed we do have another on the way, I am very nervous to tell our family members as they thought we were crazy for having 4. My husband comes from a family of 6 including his parents and I was an only child and always longed for close siblings. Why do I feel like the majority of the population looks down on large families anymore? You should see the looks and comments I get just going to the grocery store! Does anyone else feel this way? on one hand we will be over joyed to be welcoming another precious life into our family but on the other hand nervous about how others will except it.

I just found out I'm expecting babies number 4 and 5 and I'm quite concerned. I'm afraid my family will be too big. I'm afraid I will be excluded from events due to "too many kids". I came from a family of 5 and my mom complained that we were excluded a lot because of our size. What is your experience with this?

Hi, I know what you mean. My husband works hard to Keep us a tight family. We work together raising our five children. Their ages are 14,12, two 10 year olds( boy/girl twins), and a 5 year old. We have 3 boys and 2 girls also. Parents that have 4 or more kids have a lot to deal with. Especially money wise.

Hi! We are considering having 5! We have a 1 year old daughter, and are considering adopting sibs from the foster system. They are 9, 8, 6, and 4. We don't have the most supportive family, so am concerned it may be too much for us...yet want to adopt ehm in the same breath! :)

Hi Kristy!
Welcome. I have 4 girls, 7, 5, 3, and 1. We are hoping for a boy sometime :) but will love any additional blessing that comes our way! :) I have an amazing husband and we both have wonderful families. I came from a family of 9 (Mom, Daddy, and 7 kids) and he from a family of 5 (his parents had all boys). The girls have amazing aunts and uncles; only 5 cousins yet, and four of those are under 4 so Christina says she feels like "the old one" whenever we are at either family gathering... but it's fun!! :) I wouldn't trade it for the world!
Like Henry Fonda says in one of our favorite movies (yours, mine, & ours) "which one would we skip?" lol!

Didn't have alot of help when they were little but have an awesome husband. Lots of people in and out of our house on any given day between me babysitting which I have always done and all the kids friends always over.

Hi i have 5 kids too. 3 boys and 2 girls and they are 8,7,5,2 and 4months. i have a schedule that i use mon-fri and on the weekends we just spend time as a family. I get my cleaning done early and spend the day giving each one of my kids individual time and then for 2 hours in the afternoon i put in a movie and spend that time for myself just relaxing and doing what i want but where i can still watch the kids. It does get easier and you will adjust rather quickly. If you need any help or just want to talk you can send me a message. I will help in any way i can.

I have 6 children and another on the way. My husbands parents are dead and my family live 2 states away. It is very challenging to have such a large family without the support system but it can be done. We have several adult foster children all over the country too. Many with children of their own. It's awesome to have such a big diverse family! I wouldn't change it for anything.!

help is great, not sure why you would n't want it.... ? I guess you can simplify things like crazy, take on only what you are willing and able to do, and get the older ones to help with the younger ones, and only ask for help occasionally.... will get easier if you teach each kid a responsibility until they get good at it keep it the same.... like one has to make sure there is toilet paper, one garbage, one laundry in, one put away laundry, one the toys.... and everyone helps with bussing their dishes to the kitchen after supper, and the older ones read to the younger ones while you clean.... they all do everything together, like only pick one outside school activity so you can do it and just keep things SIMPLE!! my hubby was out of town a lot, and no help from parents (much) and I did it.... all ... but seriously help is great, I would try and make it work for you, as they get older they need MORE time and it takes all you can give, there are a lot of different needs and it is nice to split it up with different age groups doing different things.... younger probably with you, and older probably with Dad. enjoy!

I too have 5 kids, 4 boys and a girl, aged 16, 14, 10, 8 and 4. I would love to round our number upto 6 kids but hubby has different ideas!! My mother in law helps out during school hols by taking my 10 and 8 yr olds to stay with her and out for days and my parents help us out financially, school trips etc but other than this it's me the kids see daily as hubby works shifts and can go days without seeing the kids, but we're happy with things that way.

hi, i live in belgium

i am 36 years and i have 6 kids : one boy and 5 girls.

2 kids of my own and 4 foster kids who stay here all the time.

the kids are 12 and 7 , my own kids.

the foster kids are : 3 of 4 years and one of 1,5 year.

I haven't got help from family, they dont understand why we want so many kids!

but my husband helps me every day, he also puts them in bath every time, i don't have to help, and bedtime is also for him.

thursday, the little one goes to my mum, because i need to clean my house from top to bottom and the other kids are then to school.

my mother likes the little one, but still doenst understand why we take so many kids.

my family really don't understand.

for example...

my kids get a present for they birthday and for new year, but not the foster kids ... hard to explain to kids why that is !!!
