My 10 yr old just got in trouble for saying the F' word at school? What's the appropriate punishment

Got a call from the principal. He has said it at lunch when he thought nobody was listening.

My opinion on this will vary. I have 5 of my own and I drop the F bomb all the time especially when I'm driving. (Road Rage) I explain to my children that everything you hear should not be repeated. Explain to them how people look at and judge you for your actions. Yes everyone thinks I'm crazy. Preaching and reminding them that they have to watch they say is punishment enough. Let them know how you want them to conduct themselves especially in public. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes. Good Luck!!
