Too Many Activities

My 11yr old son is involved in some extracurricular activities- and want to be involved in more. He currently plays baseball, and participates in a performance group. In the fall he wants to play football, and be in the school band, and remain invoved in the performace group. His grades are mostly A's with some B's, and he seems to better when he has a lot to do (much like me) I so not want him to be overwhelmed, but I do believe that more he has to keep him busy, the less opportunity he has to find trouble. How do I know where to draw the line, and how do I go about doing it?

Beth, I don't know if this helps but I have an 11yr old who plays football and wrestles. Next year he also wants to be in the school band and play soccer. I agree that the more activities he is in will keep him out of trouble. When my son feels overwhelmed with activities I make sure that he gets free time to go outside and just play.
