We are in the process of adopting in Ohio again through an agency, but have been on the list for 3 years so far. Very frustrating for we have an adopted daughter that only took around 4 months. We are working on our second adoption thru the State of Ky. Previously we were foster parents and added two little ones thru adoption, but due to RAD issues decided to do straight adoption to complete our family. Hoping for either a girl or boy/girl siblings age 0-6, but are waiting to see God's plan for us. We have been waiting for about 6 months now.

We are in Iowa, things went as to be expected at teh hearing yesterday. The birth parents attorney's have until the 30th of this month to submit all closing arguements and any other witnesses they would like to call and then the judge will make her decision, and of course we will have to wait on it all to go through the court of appeals too. Birth dad mentioned a sister and his mom as a possible placement but the workers said they already contacted them and got no response so wouldn't consider them now. I hope that holds true and we get to keep them, they have really lighted up my life and my other 3 kids are so in love with them too.

We have 3 adopted children that we adopted through foster care and are hoping to adopt the two foster babies we have right now, they are brother and sister and are 6 months and 18 months old. We have a termination hearing on Monday to terminate the parents rights so it could still be several months before that process is done and we move on towards adoption. So far no family members have stepped up to take the kids and we have really bonded with them so we are praying that no family steps up now either, the ones who have room have said no, the ones who say yes the state won't approve as a good placement.

We have adopted twice domestically, and are trying to make a decision on our next adoption. If we go domestic it will most likely be a special needs adoption like my younger son was, but we are strongly considering Uganda as well. We're hoping to get started after the first of the year.



We are all about the Pink this time around and would consider any child that is younger than my littlest right now since we wish to maintain birth order.

Yes, we are going through the State of Florida and are working with a really great State runned facility. As far as age ranges, I guess it really doesn't matter to us. We feel that if there is a connection, then in that case that is the child/children for us. We hope to adopt two girls and 1 boy but thats not our call, its the States..... My kids are really excited, especially my daugther, she feels she wants little sisters so the girls would need to be under 12 years of age. My son would love to have a brother his age so he can play sports with and go hang out with.

What is your situation? Have you adopted yet or are in the process as well. Do you know what age ranges and/or genders you would love to add to your family?

I totally hear you on the paperwork! I hope your agency gave you a list, because for me, having a simple list all in once place was so helpful. I also made sure that I made copies of everything I sent, and requested extra copies of anything I had to request and those all went into our fire box. It's so much easier to just do it as you go along!

You are going through your state? Do you have age ranges or gender in mind?
