Are there any other large adoptive families out there? We have ten beautiful children. Three biological, 3 adopted through social services, 1 private, 3 from Liberia. We are in the process of bringing home our 4th liberian son. We also home school. Looking to meet other large adoptive families!

I have four boys, including 8 yr old twins. I would LOVE to adopt. I'd have a dozen if I could afford it. Congratulations on your new son on his way!

We have 6 children. I have 3 biological children and 3 adopted through foster care. We are not sure about more at this time but, maybe when our older three are out of high school.

We also are a large adoptive family.  We have 4 biological children and 4 adopted children.  Our adopted children first came to us as foster children through the Dept of Children, Youth & Families.  We got them all as newborns and they are now in their teens (13, 14, 15 &15.  Our biological children are all older and married with their own families; so in addition to our 8 children we have 9 grandchildren (all around the ages of our adopted children).  We are a multi-cultural family - 2 of our adopted children are caucasian, 1 is Laotian and 1 is Native american/African american - all are beautiful.  Of the 4 adopted children - 3 are special needs children - born with coccaine in their systems - 2 have FAS, 2 has PDD and all 3 boys are also ADHD and I wouldn't trade any of them for anything in this world - they are all a blessing!  Hope to hear more from you and am looking forward to making many friends on this site.

You are living my dream too!  We have adopted four from the state's foster care system.  My 'goal' was 8-10, but dealing with the state is .....ugh!......  don't quite know what to put there.  I finally reached the end of all that I could handle from them and we put our licesnse on hold.

We homeschool also.  I love it!

Good luck with your fourth from Liberia!  How complicated is the process?

You are living my dream :)  Unfortunatly I live in a state that limits adoptive family size, so once I get to 6 we'll have to see what we can do. It's so unconstitutional though!

How has the adoption process in Liberia been?  Do you travel to pick the children up?  Do they have restrictions on family size?  I was thinking that once we've adopted as many as we can from our own state, we'll move to international, or get a private homestudy and adoption from another state without restrictions.  We have one son and I'm hoping for a sibling group from foster care once we are approved.

Best of Luck and thanks for posting :)
