I recently had a ruptured tubal pregnancy and they had to remove my left fallopian tube. Has anyone successfully gotten pregnant (and delivered the baby) with only one fallopian tube?

You can absolutely conceive with one fallopian tube. A few years ago I had an ectopic pregnancy that ruptured causing me to nearly die. I lost a lot of blood and had to have an emergency surgery. My doctor decided to remove my left tube because it was just too damaged and if it had remained, I would be likely to have another ectopic pregnancy. Both of my ovaries and my right tube are just fine and healthy. Not too long after my surgery, I found out I was pregnant with my daughter who is now 2. My pregnancy was normal and my delivery went very smoothly.

My husband and I are now trying for a third child. I really want this one as well, so I am feeling the same anxieties I did when we were trying for our daughter. However, since she was conceived, I believe we can successfully conceive again.

My doctor told me that if your other tube is in working order, you should have no problem getting pregnant and having a healthy pregnancy. It may take a bit longer, but you will ovulate and will be able to conceive.

I lost my child lasts week to a tubal pregnancy when I was about 7 weeks. I was having pain in my left side for 4days before I rushed to the er for emergency surgery And removal of my left tube. I bless God for the 2 boys I was able to have, however my husband is urging another. I believe God that this happened to us ladies because we are chosen to be a blessing to others who may experience this, it is not over for me whether I can conceive or not! Jealousy and envy is a dangerous feeling to have which can cause other problems in our life. What if God stopped us of having a bad seed, heartache instead of joy from that child, or a mentally disabled child . We never know his reasons all the time, just know we are all different. Just because it happens or does not happen for someone else does not determine our end result!! Be encouraged Please please help someone else get through this, i struggled with reminders myself but i have to keep in mind the doctors nor myself is in control only God. I know it is not our fault this happened a lot of times doctors don't even know why it happened.

Reading all the success stories makes me happy and sad. I had a mc in February had an operation it was my first pregnancy, then I fell pregnant in June and had an ectopic pregnancy I stayed in the hospital for a week bcoz first they said I am having twins then after I lost the "babies" they removed my left Fallopian tube, when I went to see the gyno she said they can't be sure if it was twin or not, my husband and I were devastated we don't know if we should moan for the lost of two or one baby it's horrible. I have been trying to get pregnant for 8months after the surgery with no luck every month I think I am but get negative test, my husband and I come from a large family so it's been really hard not getting pregnant. But every time I get pregnant I can't keep it, I don't know what else to do I really want a baby so bad I will try anything, did anyone try home remedies, pills or anything to help them conceive?

I have to say that it is entirely true! I am 32 years old and had a tubal pregnancy in 2010. I had no idea I was even pregnant. I stood up and had a horrible sharp pain in my stomach and could not even move. I had no idea what it was so i had my husband carry me to my bed and stayed there all night because the pain was so horrific I could not bare to move. Around 6 or 7 hours later I was to get up because the pain had was not as it was the previous night, when I went to stand up I had fainted and was rushed to the hospital. I had found out my right tube had ruptured and I had lost one third of the blood in my body and had to be rushed to surgery to have the tube removed and have a blood transfusion. I did not have my monthly cycle for two years after the surgery and I was positive that I could not have children anymore. My cycle did finally start after two years and I had tried very hard to get pregnant to the point of exhaustion. After a year and a half of this I had given up on having anymore children. A month ago I found out I was pregnant I am now 11 weeks. I have been constantly worrying about having another ectopic or a miscarriage but I had a ultrasound and my baby is safe in my uterus with a strong heart beat. IT IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE A BABY WITH ONLY ONE FALLOPIAN TUBE, so please ladies don't give up you will get your miracle!

Thank you so much for responding. Congratulations on your pregnancy and I will pray for the best for you. It certainly is an awful time after the rupture and I still have days where I get really depressed, but your story gives me hope and if it is ment to be,then it will be for me as well. Best wishes for you and your family!

I have certainly heard reports of it happening. Although it is much more difficult. An old co-worker of mine had a similar situation. When I quit my job I know that she was trying. The chances are cut in half, sometimes more depending on if you had a dominate ovary or not. You might be able to take some hormone medications to help the other ovary produce a viable egg.
