I'm currently 14 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. I have noticed i'm starting to get a belly quite a bit quicker this time than I did with my son. I really didn't start popping until i was into like 4 or 5 months. I was wondering if any other moms experienced the same thing after their first pregnancy. Thanks!

I'm 4 weeks pregnant and I am already in maternity clothes. Not that I can't fit into my other clothes, but they are just getting to tight. And this is my second baby.

You start to show sooner because your abdominal muscles aren't as strong as they use to be. due to the stretching from the previous pregnancy, and just never regain the same muscle tone.

First off Congratulations...:) Ok so I'm a mother of 4. My first i didn't show until i was about 6 months pregnant and the same thing with my 2nd. However once my 3rd came along i was showing right around the 4th month..every woman body is different and no woman develops the same..the hormones in your body are totally different they also said it depends on the sex of the baby..

Wish you the best of luck :0

I think a lot of it has to do with bloating.. Your tummy muscles arent as strong as they were so it easier for them to stretch.. with my daughter I was about 24 weeks before I had a belly where people could tell I was pregnant, this time I was about 16 weeks when I got asked when I was due.. I think though you get to a certain point where you will probably be the same size as you were with your first..

Totally normal! I just had my 3rd child 5 months ago and it seemed that with each one I showed just a little bit more with each one. Remember those belly muscles didnt know what to think the first time around.....:) and now this time around its a little looser and those muscles dont put up such a fight about stretching the second and third time. Your gonna be fine.....its those 20 extra pounds I cant loose right now that I'm worried about....lol

i am now 36 weeks along and not big at all. i think it was just me being paranoid about it. i really didn't pop till about 7 months. now people tell me all the time that i don't look as far along as i am. even though i am measuring just as i should. i think i felt this one move earlier than i did with my first. i'm pretty sure this one is an acrobat.

I am 16 weeks pregnant with my second child too! I was showing at 6 weeks with this baby and wearing maternity pants. I am short so I get big fast! My first child was 8.9 and I began showing at 8 weeks ! So true about our stomach stretching sooner! Good luck on your pregnancy and congrats!

Not only did I show sooner, my joints started loosening up sooner, too. I had more hip/leg pain with the second because of this. Baby #2 never got "landlocked" and was moving all the way into month 9. Baby #1 stopped moving at 7 months. Also had a much easier delivery, less than half an hour of pushing!

I am 28 weeks prego with #2 and started showing WAAAAY earlier this time. The dr. said its cause the muscles and ligaments are already stretched out so they expand quicker the 2nd time around. Good Luck with the pregnancy and be careful lifting your lil one!

Yes! I am only 11 weeks pregnant and i have a noticable bump already! I was a bit worried this wasn't normal but seems it is. I already have a 17 month old son, so this is my second pregnancy too.

I showed quickly with my first, not until my 8th mos with my second, pretty quickly with my 3rd and 4th and 5th was all baby, i think it just depends. But also with my 5th i started gaining weight weirdly like all hips and went to the dr. found out i had developed an allergy to corn and once the preganancy was over the allergy was gone. Good luck to you during your pregnancy

Your body will naturally expand after your first child because your muscles etc have been pushed to a limit that they werent before, so unless you are an athlete etc, your body never would have gone back into the shape completely that is was before the birth of your first. It could also be that you have a "bigger bub" or he/she could be lying "lower" than your first. It really doesnt matter, every pregnancy is different and the only thing you need concern yourself with is if bub is growing well and healthily and you are keeping the same. Dont over analyise and enjoy it chick.. I have had 6 bubs, one pregnancy being twins so i know and can sympathise. Take it in your stride.... Hope it helps x

Yes, started showing much sooner with second. This baby also moves around a GREAT DEAL more! I am 35 weeks now & it seems that this baby will be around the same size as my first. I have been feeling more uncomfortable with this pregnancy, but think that the body is designed for second/subsequent births to be easier. All the best for your journey!

I noticed I started showing sooner but my belly wasn't really noticeable until I was like 6 months along both times. I only noticed because I frequently look at myself especially when pregnant.

wow. this is really helpful. i'm 15 weeks now. i thought 14 but the doc said 15. thursday i had an apt and he wasn't able to find a heartbeat, which i'm telling you is the worst feeling in the world! so yesterday i had an ultrasound and everything is great and very surprisingly we found out that we are having another boy!!! we were shocked to learn this so early, but very very overjoyed!!! thanks everyone for all the input.

I am 18 weeks along with #2 and my pants were getting tight around week 10! I believe with my first, this didn't happen until I was at least about 13-14 weeks. I also have definitely felt movements A LOT sooner with this one then I did with my first.

I was showing much earlier and felt the baby move sooner. You show earlier because your body knows what it's doing already (you already stretched out your uterus once). You usually feel the baby move earlier just because you can more easily separate your own flutters from the baby's movement. I had my third in November. On average it gets a little easier each time your pregnant because your body knows what it's doing.

I am nearly 26 weeks pregnant with my second and was showing much sooner this time round. I also felt this baby kick at 15 weeks, whereas I didn't feel my first until I was 24 weeks (hubby has been feeling this one kick from around 20 weeks whereas first time he didn't feel it until about 28/29 weeks).

I am almost 24 weeks pregnant with my second child, and I too started showing much earlier with this baby then I did my 1st. My dr too said that since everything has been stretched that it does it faster the second time around.

Most people I know with multiple children experienced what you are talking about. I, however, am unfamiliar with it ... I showed the most and the quickest with my first.

Good luck with your pregnancy and delivery ... having multiple children is SO much fun! Just remember to not spend a lot of time comparing them ... they are each their own person.

Thats exactly how it's happening with me Rebekah. i'm still in my regular cloths, but my stomach is definitely "softer" i guess. not as pliable? lol. i can't really wear jeans comfortably though. amen for yoga/sweatpants!

Oh, yes. I was wearing maternity pants by 8 weeks with my 2nd. It wasn't that I had a true "belly," but I swear the second I got pregnant, fat started accumulating in my middle.

Yes I certainly showed much earlier my second time around. My boys are only 18 months apart and my dr told me everything had been stretched out once before so its easier for it to stretch earlier than the first time. In the end though I gained a few less pounds with my second child than I did with my first. No worries
