At the end of the day your baby will come when he or she is ready. Some other things you could try are taking a long walk, sex, eating lots of fresh pineapple (not tinned), and also drinking raspberry leaf tea. I went 2 days overdue with my son and sex did the trick for me lol!

I would tell your doctor you are done and you ready to be induced. At 39 weeks pregnant the baby is just gaining weight. I had to do the same with my duaghter who we ended up taking 2 weeks early I couldnt walk anymore with out such sever pain I was mentally breaking down. I just told my doctor at my check up if this baby is fine to be born please take her or I dont know if I can mentally make it to the end and still take care of my 2 year old safely. He agreed with me since he says no one knows there body like themselves and the baby was safe at 38 weeks. She ended up weighing 6.7 and was completely healthy.

Ask your doctor to strip or sweep your membranes. It's completely harmless to you and the baby. It is a little painful I hear, but it can bring on labor. I am in the same boat as you 39 weeks pregnant with my second and I tell ya I am over it. I have my doc appt. tomorrow morning and I am having my membranes stripped so hopefully it works!

My baby was born one day before his due date. I was planning castor oil, etc. but never got to it. Relax! I know it's hard being 39 weeks pregnant, but you will not have time for you and your partner alone for at least the next year -- enjoy it while you can.

Try Googling 'nipple stimulation for labor induction'. You should find instructions on how to do it. My friend has self-induced all five of her kids this way. I'm 37 weeks pregnant and feeling the same way as you. In another week or two I'm going to try it.

I was feeling the same way at 39 weeks pregnant. I just had to wait and my daughter actually came the day after my due date. :)

I was completely sick of being pregnant. The baby was moving all over the place and wouldn't stay head down. I begged my OB to do something and he wouldn't cause I was only 38 weeks pregnant...another week and my water broke. I didn't get a contraction for 18 hours after that, painful anyway, and then I was put on the iv to get things going. I had HORRIBLE back labor and the epidural was useless after about 6 hours. After 35 hours total, my placenta started coming out first, and the baby's heart rate was erratic, so I ended up getting an emergency c-section....I was grateful for the c-section after having back labor for over 12 hours...
