My son is 6 months and is standing up with support and is getting stronger everyday, he has been crawling and sitting from 4 months. We always put him to sleep on his back and he rolls over on his front now (and has done for ages) but we just let him do what was comfortable for him

Both of my girls were pulling up and "cruising" (walking while holding onto furniture" at 6 months. They each walked independently without holding onto anything a few days past 9 months old. But they have always been very physical and tend to be a bit behind verbally.

my son was standing at 6 months cruising the furniture 2 weeks later, but didnt crawl til 7.5 months and now at 11 months he is learning how to walk..... he is go go go all the time, I am very proud of him but I also do long for the days he would just sit with me and play with the toys in front of him rather then destroy the house like a lil tornado... but i love him to pieces lol

Yes, my little man is also crawling (on tummy and practicing lifting his bottom off the ground a lot) and is pulling himself up to standing at 6 months. He has mostly slept on his tummy and seems to have very strong back muscles. Yet he won't sit independently for longer than a few seconds before falling over. He prefers to move about I think.

I am curious too!! did these super babies sleep on their backs of stomach? & any other tips to what helped them develop those leg muscles so fast!! please let us know. I have a two month old, and he doesnt even like tummy time, so i cant see him crawling earlier than usual, lol. but we keep trying, for short periods of time

hi there my little one is just over 6 mths old now named sara born on the 5th may,,,
well where do i start these last past few weeks have been none stop of the things shes doing though she was actually standing on her feet and taken her first step holding on at four mths old long before she could roll over, now ive lost tract of all the things shes done cus like a blink of an eye she was doing em. taking her first steps sitting up on her own rolling over now that was a bit scary for me cus she was rolling from back to her front but not yet quite the other ways and not putting her head to the side, instead she was laying faced down so i lost some sleep there by making sure throughout the night she was still on her back,,, shes on some solids too, i just amazed at how speederly shes done it all now getting confatant to try and let go of one hand to walk on her own but shes not gotten the ballance just right yet but only a matter of time
she gotten two teeth 3rd taking a while but its there, and now shes mastered the art of moving about on the floor legs straight n bum up in air arms down using her feet to push her self forwards shes not interest in learning to crawl at all she wants to be on her legs so will be getting a baby walker shortly,,,, god im just worn out from writing it she must be from achieving it all plus trying to speek on top of it all mum we had mths ago now its moo bar as in hannas help line oh and beat boxing lol lol lol

Actually my daughter is 6 months old and she is also standing up by pulling herself up on furniture, toys, ect... She too has been crawling for about a month and a half or so. She can stand by herself for close to 30 seconds before she gets excited and tips over! Try setting his feet the right way and get him focused on your face, of course keep your hands right next to him, and slowly he'll stand longer and longer and it will teach him to keep his balance too!! I'm around quite a few babies around the same age and it seems pretty advanced. YAY!!

as long as he is doing it himself i cant see the harm....my baby is 8 months old she was crawling at 5 months and pulling herself to stand when holding our hands,but only learnt to sit alone at 6 months also at 6 months she was pulling herself up with furniture and getting herself out of her bouncer, she is now walking with furniture and trying to walk. its a big step for them but if he is doing it he must be ready....make sure your ready u cant get anything done once they get the hang of it.

Congrats to your baby standing at six months. My eight month old started crawling right before she turned 5 months old...and started pulling up shortly after...So, no, you aren't alone!!! She's taking a few steps here and there. So, needless to say, between her and the cat, Christmas will be very interesting! Lol

Congratulations on your baby standing at 6 months. My little boy was also standing and moving around the furniture at 6 months but he didn't crawl at all till recently. He is now 9 months and 2 weeks old. He still prefers walking.

My 5mth old loves to be pulled into a sitting position then launches himself into a standing position while holding our hands...he's almost crawling too. I figure he knows what works for him and as long as he's not hurting himself, it's all good!

My baby is standing at 6 months too! He just turned 6 months on October 28th and he is crawling and pulling himself up on furniture or anything he can get ahold of! I know what you mean about not being able to turn your back! They're sneaky little guys haha!

Wow, congratulations to you and your baby standing at 6 months! he is adorable. i'm sure you'll get the whole he's not ready speech somewhere in there, but if he's doing it himself, then he's ready. make sure your furniture is secure/stable and keep those items out of his reach now that he is 'taller'. i walked at 6 months & 20 days (for food ironically because the hallway floor was slippery & i had problems crawling to the kitchen to go eat) so i stood up and started walking there. so good luck to you, he is just precious!
