I need some help. My daughter is 6 weeks old and for the past couple of weeks has been more alert, but still wanting to sleep all the time. I'm breastfeeding, and she will nurse fine for a couple minutes, but then it seems like she thinks she needs to go back to sleep again, gets really fussy, pulls off my breast, roots, then repeat! I burp her, as she is knawing at her fists, attempt to bf again, only to have the same thing happen. She does this with most feeds even when I know she is hungry (when she wakes up after a 5-6 hr sleep stretch). She then after a while immediately falls asleep after rocking. Is she just overtired? Any tips? She usually doesn't have a problem with my letdown unless she just wants to sleep and not get any milk when it comes. She refuses a paci :(

If you know she's hungry and she keeps falling asleep during feedings strip her down to a diaper so she is uncomfortable. Both my kids were winter early spring babies so we'd strip them down and my husband would rub their feet, they would get mad but it would keep them awake long enough to eat.
