Sometimes it takes reflux medicine a while to work. There are also non medicinal things you can do to help your baby including keeping them upright and feeding slower. Here are some good answers from doctors on "how to manage your baby's reflux: http://bit.ly/jeWECh

our 6 mos old just started Prevacid, generic, two weeks ago. it has made a HUGE difference. until two weeks ago, he never laid down, i had to sleep him in his bouncy chair. he only took 4 oz at a time and i had to stop half way thru to burp him which was a nighmare. it didn't matter if i nursed him or bottle fed him, he couldn't keep it down. if positioning isn't making a diffence for him, bouncy chair or crib wedge, etc., get on top of it w/the pedicatrician. see if he has milk allergies, see if different forumla makes a difference. after that, see what medicines are available. i am sooooooo happy that he can lay down to sleep finally.
it also gets to be very annoying to be spit upon all of the time for you. our baby had no problem gaining weight, but it gets to be alot of physical work holidng him all of the time and keeping him propped up.
there are GI specialists you ask the doctor to see too. you don't have to limit yourself to the pediatrician,.
good luck!

My brother projectile vomited across the room when he was a newborn/infant. It's normal for some babies. If he is fine and not fussy I'd stop the reflux meds, doesn't sound like reflux, normally baby is very fussy when spitting up due to reflux.

oh yeah, we hold our little man up too, and burp him half way through the feed. Before this new formula though, he would bring it up no matter what angle we had him on or how many times we burped him.

Our youngest is doing this too, he's 6wks 3days. I breastfed until about a week ago, but he did the same then too. The dr suggested we try 'S26 AR' formula (were in Australia), it's for mild reflux and regurgitation. He's been on this for 2 days now, and only bought up a very small amount after each feed, about what you'd expect any newborn to bring up. So far, so good for him on this new one.

also, I think that if the baby is not fussing or acting in pain chances are it wouldn't be heartburn...heartburn hurts pretty bad and is frustrating. I had it bad during pregnancy. (like most woman haha)

My son is 4 mths old and he has had this very same issue up until about 1 mth ago...I was told to not eat sugar and dairy, it sounds crazy but actually he doesn't spit up like that anymore. His peiatrician diagnosed him with acid reflux and precribed med. for him and it didn't really work. I had to have him sleep at an angle and hold him upright for atleast 1/2 hr after he ate and he ate around the clock as well. My advice is to not eat sugary foods and minimize your dairy. It worked for us! Good Luck, it can be frustrating changing outfits constantly...I used to do literally 3 loads of laundry daily! now it's just down to 1:)

my son did this every time he ate for an entire year, and it never bothered him either and he grew just fine. if the reflux meds aren't working, there is a rare thing that can happen, generally in males, where it's constricted at the top of the stomach. if you're truly worried, be persistent with his pediatrician. a mother always knows her baby best, and the sqeaky wheel always get the grease. never be afraid to speak up as a mother!!

My lil guy did this for a long time started at about 2 weeks. I breastfeed...no formula. He wasn't in pain...He grew out of this...I just help him upwards for at least 15 minutes. He used to nurse 24 7 so sometimes i thought he just ate so much he was just letting out what could not fit in his lil tummy lol Hope things get better for you!
