Ask the doctors to do an altrasound and check for paloric stenosis. Get onto it straight away. My son had it, had to have a small op and has been fine ever since. Projectile vomiting and lots of little vomits inbetween feeds. Goodluck

Think you need another opinion,my youngest were born 2 months late, her esophogus valve wasnt even there, of course we didnt find out for a fair few weeks she were the same didnt whine just couldnt keep food down our doctor said it was just reflux until 8-10 weeks old she started loosing weight even drinking nearly 7oz every 4 hours, she became hysterical and started holding her breathe when we got her to the hospital they check everything again and discovered because of the her missing valve the acid reflux had started to hurt her esophogus everytime she ate, we finally found the right medicine to ease her pain and now she is a happy healthy 17 month old with a formed valve and an appetite for everything. x

Maybe smaller feedings throughout the day. Breast or bottle fed? Please always check for natural options before using any meds. Read about Colic Calm for babies. Good luck!

First question - is this reflux or actual vomiting? If just reflux and baby is growing OK then it is not a huge issue, otherwise need to see a doctor!

My little guy has has this problem, it was worst when he was about 11 months old where I took him to the doctor. They do have meds that can help, and if on formula changing types can help (Similac was my best, but all babies are different). We also did smaller feedings as suggested by someone else which does help. In the end, if your baby is pretty happy and growing OK just plan to do more laundry and cover your furniture, they will grow out of it eventually! (Mine is not spitting up everything anymore, but at 5 months does still spit up about 4-6 oz per day still.)

My 1yr old had simular issues, the dr's kept telling me it was reflux and not to worry because he was gaining weight and growing pretty good, but after month's and month's of being on soy, rice cereal, med's he was still spitting up and really fussy so finally at my wits end i changed his formula to similac alimentum and guess what he was a totally different baby stopped spitting up and no more fussiness or gas it was great when we went for his check up i told his dr i what i switched his formula too and she was suprised that it ended up being a milk protien allergy

how about smaller feeds, more often instead of big feeds every 4 hours or whatever. also keeping the baby up instead of lying them down straight away after a feed for at least 30 minutes helps. oh and cloth nappies over the couch arms, your shoulder and everywhere you go! my kid had reflux and it was crazy but they do grow out of it.

my daughter was the same when she was small she ended up on soya milk and gaviscon powders which help loads she had really bad reflux but they do grow out of it maybe its worth asking your doctor about soya milk and see if that helps

What on earth - is he breastfeeding or formula fed? Either way, has anyone discussed the possibility of an allergic reaction to cows millk? Wether its ingested and given to the baby through your body, or through formula. It really sounds like some sort of allergy, you should change formula and look into this.. I can't believe the first thing they did is give you drugs!!!!!! I hate our modern society.. drugs drugs drugs. Bah

There are no meds for babies that will keep them from spitting up their milk. The meds are for acid reflux and what they do is neutralize the acid in your babies stomach so that it isn't irritating the esophogus when it comes back up. Your baby may simply be overeating. My daughter does that sometimes. Especially when she wants to go to sleep, but can't seem to get there and is using me as a pacifier. Maybe you should not allow him to feed as long. Make him take breaks by burping him, or just putting him up to your shoulder and rubbing his back, to allow the food to settle into his stomach. If he isn't whining, I really wouldn't worry about it. He'll grow out of it eventually. Until then, just keep a set of clothes handy at all times!

You might need to try different types of medicine. It is very hard until you get one that works you should also discuss different formulas with the doctor. The right combination of medicine and formula usually works. My son who is 20 months now had the same problem. I found for him prevacid and similac soy formula worked the best. Every child is different though. Just keep at it. It usually gets better when they get closer to a year. Hope this helped you a little.
