8 month old won't take his bottle or solids, no other symptoms

My son is almost 8 months old and two days ago he stopped taking his bottle and this morning he wasn't interested in his baby food either. When offered his bottle he waves it away, if we try to get the nipple in his mouth he begins to cough, almost as if it's triggering a gag reflex. (Needless to say, we've stopped trying to get the nipple in his mouth.) However, he won't drink from his sippy cup either. So far he's shown no other symptoms and shows no signs of dehydration, although I'm sure that's right around the corner. Has anyone dealt with something like this before?

this baby could be cutting teeth so it's a bit painful for baby and they fuss a lot when it comes to feeding. on the other hand, this baby could be perfectly fine if they show no signs of sickness....my doctor tells me that no baby is stupid enough to starve themselves, he says we shouldn't force babies to eat. they will definitely come around on their own. don't stress baby will be just fine sooner than later.

Yes my little one did that for about a week and then two teeth appeared so maybe he's teething?
Whenever he gets any teeth he goes right off food and drink but my health visitor said it was completely normal and nothing to worry about. :)
