Hey I was wondering if it was normal to loose hair after pregnancy? I had really thick hair when I got pregnant & after I had my baby it has got really thin. I'm so scared that I'm loosing my hair :/

Yes, it is normal. I started losing hair at six months postpartum and lost hair for at least four months.

Same thing happened to me. I think it is a combination of all that hair that wasn't shed during pregnancy finally being shed AND the hormones changing, especially if you're breastfeeding effecting new growth. My hairdresser recommended a special shampoo to help make the existing hair stronger and less likely to break off but I'm not sure if it really worked or not! The balding patches are regrowing now though so all good!

Yep, totally normal!! I would be taking a shower and have handfuls coming out!! And my hair is already thin to begin with, so I was NOT happy at all about this lol. My son is 10 1/2 months old now & my hair stopped falling out several months ago.

It's very common for this to happen. I experienced it until my son was about 5 months old but it's because during pregnancy your hormones prevent your hair that is naturally shed each day for doing it's job so it happens all at once afterbirth. That's why it seems like so much hair is being lost.

ur not actually losing ur hair, ur just losing the extra hair that grew whilst u were pregnant so dont worry!! its looks like handfuls though hey and feels so thin in comparison...if only all the weight went as easily!!!haha!

This is totally normal. I continued to take my prenatal vitamins after the baby was born to help it grow back. With the hormone changes you body will do all kinds of fun things until it gets back to normal & unfortunately loosing hair is very common. It took about 5 months before my hair stopped falling out & started growing back.

Very normal. Same thing with my first child. You should call you dr. just to be sure that the amount is normal. But it has to do with the hormones changing and all the hair you gained while pregnant now falls out. I found that a shorter haircut helped me to handle all the loss better.
