Quoting Kimberly:

Try "Happiest Baby on the Block" by Dr. Harvey Karp, if your baby is is very young (up to maybe 3 months). If baby is gassy, try keeping him/her upright for 20-30 minutes after feeding. Burp well. Also, you can gently bring baby's knees up to chest and hold for 15 sec. at a time. Repeat several times and assess if working. Consider that the fussiness may be stemming from overstimulation and overtiredness. Has baby been napping sufficiently? It's recommended that young babies nap after every 1-2 hours of wakefulness. Finally, get a baby sling! Many babies fall asleep nearly instantly when placed in one. They love being close to you and feeling the movement of your body. Probably simulates the womb feeling, because the tightness of the sling makes them feel snug and secure. Bonus - your hands are free and you can try to get something done in addition to comforting and holding your colicky baby all day! Good luck!

Happiest Baby onthe BLock also comes in a dvd.  It helped my husband and I properly swaddle and calm our baby.  She's pretty easy anyway but when she does fuss people are amazed at how quickly we can calm her

Hello Jennifer!, I received a small recipe from a Health Food Store for Babies with Colic.....1tsp of sunflower oil, 1tsp of cod liver oil, 1tsp of olive oil and 2 tsps of coconut oil

1/8 to 1/4 tsp twice daily for newborns to 1 years old. Place on the nipple directly as baby is being feed or mix in with the formula.

If you give this a try...I hope it helps.....best of luck, Luanne :)

You should use the Dr. Brown's baby bottles. I used them on my son and they worked very good.

hi! before i gave birth i went shopping for some baby bottles. there's this bottle that comes with a regulator that's supposed to control the flow of milk. the regulator was anti-colic according to the bottle's label. i bought a set of 3 and now my baby uses it. true, she hasn't had colic since day 1.

Quoting Louise:

Google Dr Harvey Karp. He has a wonderfull book called Baby Bliss and it saved my life as my son also had colic. He has developed a method called the cuddle cure and it works like a charm. Read the book, Google his name. There are other things to to besides medicating your baby (with medicines that may or may not work) and you don't have to wait it out and listen to your baby cry endlessly. Save your sanity, Read the book, google his name.

My son was the king of colic!! He would cry for hours and for no reason!! One of the things that I found helped was rice-socking (filling an old, or new, sock with rice and microwaving it for about 10 secs) swaddling him and putting him in his crib with the light out. The warmth and snugness comforted him and the dark helped him unwind. Also there is this European tub that is supposed to mimick a womb?? To me it looks like a bucket and that too is supposed to help.

My doctor told me that with a colic baby you can't do much on your own other than burb them after every oz they eat. There are medicines they can take if you choose to go down that route. How old is your baby? My doc said it should go away by 6 months of age. Good luck!
