anyone else told their baby was 41wks when you thought you delivered on time?!?!?

I am sorry that must have been a typo on my post doctors recommend pain meds with induction but I had none.

My daughter was born June 8th, she was 8 lbs and 3 oz. When I first found out I was pregnant, my first due date was June 23rd, then it became June 14th. I had my baby girl when I was 39 weeks pregnant, but when they took her to the nursery to test her, they brought her back and said they would have to test her sugars everytime before she ate, because she acted like a 42 week old baby.

I as well did not take my prenatals. Needless to say my aunt and mom were not happy w/me about that, but oh well. I did not know they didn't recommend no pain meds w/inductions. But I suppose by the time I was actually in labor about 2 minutes after my water was broken (pitcoin did nothing), then it was already too late.

I didn't take prenatal vitamins while pregnant, I just didn't see a point seeing as how for many more years people were giving birth withought them, I was induced because my son has dropped down on a nerve causing my stomach to lose sensation in it as well as my back and part of my legs, I did great had him in eight hours withought pain meds, even though they do not reccomend that with induction.

Jennifer, that is how my son's skin was as well, and I guess that is why she guessed him at about 41 weeks. I feel that doctors don't know anythign about your due date and why do we need to go to the doctor while pregnant? Women YEARS ago did! And they didn't take prenatal vitamins that made them even more sick either! haha

My due date was April 10th and i started having my contractions and my dute and i had to have my water broke when i was 6.5 cm and and 2 hrs later i was 10cm and he came out with a cone head and he was 8lbs 0oz and 20 1/2 inches...he was only 2 days late..i was so happy!!! =D

Yeah inductions are a horrible thing to go through and caused me nothing but complications. I had the opposite problem. I was suppose to be 41.5 wks when i was induced and my son came out 7lbs12oz. The pitocin didn't do jack for me either. Furthest I progressed was 4 cm in 12 hours. I ended up having to get a c-section which is a whole other story considering the epideral wasn't strong enough for me.
With my daughter i was praying not to have an induction considering for first experience was terrible. Again I went to 41.5 wks (the longest my hospital will let you go is 42 wks). I progressed very quickly this time and was at 9.5 cm in 11 hours. But i couldn't get past the .5 so i wound up getting another c-section. This one went a lot better than the first b/c they gave me a spinal. My daughter had very dry, scaley hands and feet and when I asked the nurse about it she said it was b/c she was post-term. So i guess they were right about this one. Unlike you with both my children i was showing no signs of labour. I was googling the crap out of 'early signs labour' and 'what happened before you went into labour'. The conclusion i came to was no matter what symptoms you are experiencing there is no way of telling when labour is coming. Any doctor that tells you they know when you'll be going into labour is lying! I've heard of women walking around 6-8 cm dilated for a month! No one knows and there is no way of predicting when labour will start. As far as telling how far along you are, my family doctor would say i'm 5 weeks, my ultrasound tech would say i was 9 weeks and my OBGYN told me i was 8 weeks. :)

I have never been told that but due dates are never exactly accurate and I really don't see what it matters if you have a healthy child. People now a days are even asking their doctors to deliver on a specific date, so thats my take. Oh also I had my water broke and my baby was almost 8 pounds, its just something doctors do now a days, they get you in and out during delivery unless you ask for something different, its just a buisness to them now.
