Anyone with an Umbilical Hernia after pregnancy?

Hello all, i was just wondering if anyone else has an umbilical Hernia after pregnancy and how many children have you had while you have had this?

I have no idea how I got an Umbilical Hernia after my pregnancy with my first son! I went to see a doctor about it who said i had to have an operation to fix it before i could have any more children, to this i was scared stiff and upset as i wanted more children but i have a fear on operations and i thought i couldn't have any more kids. I went to see another doctor who got a second opinion from a midwife, who said it wouldn't stop me having another baby. I had my second son July 2008 without any problems. But now i want another baby but am scared that i will have problems or end up having a c-section which is another fear of mine. Would love to hear from other mums who had umbilical hernias after pregnancy Thanks Chez :-(

does it comes cox of c section?

I still have one and my doc told me that as long as theres no problems with it you can get it repaired after you are done having children because theres a chance it can come back if you have it repaired before you are done having children

Hi Louise, where i had a lovely belly button b4 having children, i now have a sticking out belly button and it feels like a small lump under the belly button, so it sounds like you may have a hernia, it doesn't hurt though, which is why i am not to bothered about it just have to go swimming with a tankini so it covers my belly button. Thank you for everyones messages, its nice to know i'm not the only one with an umbilical hernia after pregnancy :-)

Hi, im wondering what an umbilical hernia after pregnancy looks/feels like as i found a small lump under my belly button while i was pregnant 5 months ago and mentioned it to a few professionals who didnt seem too concerned about it. It is still there but dont stick out now its like a large pea size is this a hernia aswell?

My aunt has one, never had surgery on it. She has two kids and her doctor never said anything about it.

Hi. Not much help, but I was born with one and had the operation when I was 3 yrs old. I've since had 2 beautiful healthy boys. It is only a small incision under your belly button.
