both my sister and i were born with chocolate brown eyes and they stayed that way. my 2 older boys had grey eyes and now one has hazel and one has green, the younger 2 had blueish eyes and both have chocolate brown eyes.

no, i read that babies are born with charcoal eyes. my daughter didn't have color in her eyes til she was a little over a month. My daughter got her brown eyes from me. We will see what color eyes and hair our next daughter has. SHe could look more like her daddy or me. My sister has more of my dads features so you never know and she got hazel eyes .

my nephew had blue eyes at birth and he's 8 now, still a crystal blue. my daughter on the other hand had a very odd colour, almost neutral. we couldnt figure out what colour it was.. almost grey.?, i have Brown and my husband has Green.. but her eyes turned brown after a few months.

My daughters eyes didn't change color until she was almost 1 year old. I have a picture of her about a month before her first birthday and her eyes are blue, a month later in a pic of her on her first birthday they are brown. My sons eyes never changed, his actually got bluer.

That changeable eye color is what they call hazel, and it also changes with the color you wear.

My boys wonderful blue eyes turned bright green at around 10 weeks, then they slowly turned browner and by 6 months they were green to look at sometimes and more light brown at other times. My brothers eyes are exactly the same and he actually has had to explain it at customs that they change with the weather. My lo is 7.5 months now and he still has the same changing eyes they vary from a light green to a yellowy colour and then a light brown. Up till now my brother was the only person I knew like this! :O x

mine also changed during pregnancy. Went from brown to green. My last baby was born with dark brown eyes, and they've never changed.

Light-skinned Caucasian babies only (ie those with ancestors from Northern Europe).

my daughter is almost 6 weeks, she was born with dark blue eyes, now they vary from dark gray, dark blue and green. just like me, but mine aren't as dark as hers. her daddys eyes are brownish hazel but change colors pending on his moods. I've seen his eyes go a golden yellow.

I have heard that most babies are born with greyish blue eyes only to change colour after a few months- this wasnt the case with me or my son so i guess babies aren't all born with blue eyes- my son was born with dark brown eyes they are now a lot lighter but still brown with a few green flecks through them (they are hazel eyes), I was born with BRIGHT green eyes they stayed bright green until i was 7 years old when they changed to hazel green with an orange brown through them.

I think it all depends on the child each one is unique

my son had bright blue eyes til he was 11 months old, then they went hazel and now they are a light brown... we thought they would be blue forever because my husbands are blue and his had faded to a lighter blue from when he was born

The doctor told me that it could take up to 8 months until your babys eye color changes. My husband and I both have brown eyes and our son which is 3 months old still has the greyish/blue eye color!

my 1 yr old was born with grey blue eyes and pitch black hair around 3 months or so his hair changed to blondish brown and eyes are brown. i have brown hair brown eyes was born that way bab'ys father has black hair blue eyes was born that way.

Hi - just saw your post & thought I'd have a go at answering. Apparently Eye colour has to do with hormones as much as anything. I was born with & had Blue eyes right up til about 15 but they are now fully Hazel. My mum had blue eyes, and dads are hazel, same as mine.
Both my son & daughter (6y & 3y) were both born with dark dark hair and dark steely blue eyes and now have blonde hair & light blue eyes!
Actually a friend of my mums', her eye colour changed when she was pregnant - one blue & one green!!
So... they might not change for years (if at all) I'm afraid! :o)

The nurses when my girl was born said the colour usually stops changing at about 6 months. My daughter was born with dark dark blue (almost looked purple) eyes.... I wish they would have stayed that way!! But sadly they change at least once a day between blue, green, brown and grey, and different shades of each of them.

Eye color can change up to a year old I believe. My baby boy has dark brown eyes and I expect them to stay that way since I have brown/hazelish eyes and my hubby is Tongan with dark brown eyes as well.

There is a chance that she could keep those pretty blue eyes - both my mom and dad have brown eyes and I have blue eyes. It is a recessive gene, so you don't know if you carry the gene if you happen to have brown eyes (daddy has the recessive gene because he has blue eyes), but don't fret if they change, brown eyes can be just a beautiful when she is begging to get a new toy or take the car out later in life!

my friend had a blond hair blue eyed baby leaving the hospital, by the time he was 1 year old he was brown haired and brown eyed.. but my son has had the same color eyes from birth until now hes a blond/blue kid through and through. if there are blue eyes in your family background i would say there is a good chance that her eyes will stay blue its a dominant gene in a lot of cases.

My friends eyes changed when she was closer to 3! And eye color is more complex than Mom + Dad= eye color (Including Grandparents in to the equation and it still does not work!).

I have always heard that race plays a large part in the color of eyes your child will be born with. So not all babies are born with blue eyes. For instance for a baby that is African-American, the baby is most likely going to have brown eyes, but for babies that are Caucasian the baby will most likely be born with blue eyes, but the color will change around 3 month old.

Actually eyes can change whenever...my 18 year old brother had bright blue eyes until he was around 12 and they turned brownish green. My 10 month old daughter had brown eyes from the day she was born. It's just something you're going to have to wait and see...if you and the father both have darker eyes, your child's will more than likely change.

A baby's eye colour can change up to one year old. Usually after 6 months there isn't as much change (if any). Having said that, my 11 month old's eye colour went from blue at birth, to blue/brown at 5 months and at 10 months they turned totally brown. Whereas my firstborn was born with the bright blue eyes he has now at almost 3 years old.
If your daughter's dad has blue eyes and one of your parents have blue eyes, there is a good chance your daughter will keep her blue eyes. My husband has blond hair and blue eyes, while I have dark brown hair and brown eyes, but my father had brown hair and blue eyes, so I obviously got the recessive gene from him (my mother was Japanese). It takes 2 recessive genes to make blue eyes, so you both have to have the recessive gene to pass onto the child.

I don't think there is a time limit though... and very difficult to predict and I cannot be sure if all babies are born with blue eyes or not.

the chances are slim thats your daughters eyes will change colour if they havent started to change within the first 6 weeks. alot of babies are born with blue eyes (and quite alot with blonde hair that goes dark) because of the lack of pigmentation they have not yet produced, so in a way, alot of babies are kind of 'albino' when born

My son had gray eyes when he was born, and now they are getting more and more blue (I have brown and my husband has blue). I was born with black eyes, haha. I guess it freaked my mom out! :)

I heard it can take sometimes over a year for eyes to get to their final color.

I'm pretty sure eye colour can change up to one year old. I don't remember how old my son was when his eyes changed from blue to hazel. But I can tell you he was born with blue eyes and definately didn't keep them.

also depends on what color the farthers eyes are as well. if his are blue there might be a chance that the blues eyes will stay.
