My poor baby has acne all over her face, head, ears, and neck. My older child did not have it so bad when he was a baby. Any tips to help it go away sooner? Is it normal to be on her head under her hair too?

My son had it wicked bad. Witch Hazel is amazing. Just dap some on a cotton ball, I used it a couple time a day and was gone. It's just that there sweat glands haven't completely opened so they get clogged and that's what causes the pimples

try wiping the face with a damp cloth every couple hours and keep socks on the hands so that the oil from the hands doesn't get on the face.

I did take her to see the doctor because of my concern that it was a rash instead of acne (I myself have pretty bad allergies and sensitivities). Just baby acne, but I got instructions on what to watch for in case it is turning into eczema. She also said warm water a few times a day and fragrance free lotion is ok since she also has the beginning of cradle cap on her ears! Thanks for all the feedback.

My boy is 6 wks old and also has acne, I spoke to my health care visitor and she suggested Aqueous cream from the pharmacy. Its helped clear it up from the first time using it. It doesn't get rid of it but it does help with cleaning the skin instead of using soap.
I hope this helps

I have something that will help. Your baby must be sensitive to something you are using either on the baby or in your home as a cleaner. I have products that I use that are all naturally based so there are no toxic chemicals to be sensitive to.

my baby girl has them 2. my dr called it newborn pimples n that it would go away on its own. He also said 2 put mittens on her hands so she wouldnt scratch them or get oil from her hands on it, n not 2 pick at.

I was told to use unscented baby was. It is very normal and our Dr. told us it would go away. Kehlson get a few white heads now at 8 month but not many. Oh and don't pick at them, you could cause scars.

squirt some breast milk on it, I know it sounds gross but BM helps it big time!

It's no big deal and it doesn't bother baby. Don't pick at it or anything. Just wash her face a few times a day with a soft warm cloth. And yes, it's normal to have it all over. It just means her sweat glands are becoming active and will pass once they all open up.

I'm under the assumption that doctors are there to answer all of your questions during business hours, so it's OK to "bother" them when you have an issue. I know that it is normal for babies to have acne but if you are concerned enough to ask about it on this forum, then it is concerning enough for you to ask the doctor. Asking doesn't hurt anything and the doctor could give you some advice on how to treat the acne so your baby is more comfortable. Good luck with your love bug!

I haven't called the peditrician yet. I don't want to call for something that is 'normal', will just go away on its own, or that there is nothing they can do to help
