I accidently picked up the wrong box of detergent one day and it turned out to be one for baby's clothes.... I couldn't tell a difference but they don't smell as nice now.... My daughter seemed to miss that familiar smell.

Personally I wouldn't switch unless your baby has a reaction to the detergent, after-all our children won't be washing their clothes in baby detergent for the rest of their life !

I use dreft. Its specially formulated for baby clothes, it's a bit more expensive, but for atleast the first few months. Also the stain spray (which price wise is 3$) really works on the tough baby stains.

Baby ones like Dreft typically have extra dyes or perfumes.. you don't really need to use anything special unless you know your child has sensitive skin.

I personally just switched the entire household to Purex Free & Clear- It's a great value, and it doesn't have any dyes or perfumes. It works great for us, and I also use the Snuggle Free & Clear dryer sheets because otherwise things get very static-y.

We use Tide Free for all our clothes. It has no perfumes or dyes. You can use anything, but l like the idea of not adding the extra chemicals to their clothes.

PERSONALLY as long as you put the child in the washingmachine on gentle you should be fine, but they do tend to get dizzy during the spin cycle.....
ok in seriousness, if you dont have a lot of skin sensitivities chances r your child wont either, use whatever you normally use wash baby clothes seperate, using about 1/2 the reccomended amt detergent, and all should be fine, imho,as a mom of 7

No, you can use the same detergent that you use for your clothes.
