I have a niece named Elianna! I also have a niece named Yenika (Pronounced Yen - Nika). Also Joyce, Chantelle, Jasmin and Bailey. We were going to call our daughter Adaline Helena after my Great Grandma.

I chose Phoebe and Theoni (both Greek) for my girls. My boy would've been Delilah if he'd been a girl. Stella is another great name I like.

My ex husband didn't like Phoebe at all until I paired it with the right middle name, and then he was hooked. Maybe that's how you can try pushing through a name he's not crazy about?

We were going to name our daughter Isabella (and then the Twilight series became all the rage and it was just toooooo popular). My husband's grandmother accidentally called her Anabella and as soon as she said it I knew that was the right name. Sometimes it just takes a little accidental input from others!

My daughter's name is Lejla(said Layla) which is european because both my husband and i are from europe. One i really like though is Arabella(said AIR-UH-BELL-UH) its very uncommon and unique. I knew i chose the right name when i saw her little face and started calling her name.It just fit and i couldnt imagine calling her anything else! Choose something that you love and that you think your child might love as she gets older because she will be the one who has to live with it.And from one mom to another....you'll just know...i promise! Good luck!!!

So many names are so very popular. Some are old or traditional, some are old but spelled differently. It's hard to decide whether to go trendy or away from the mainstream. My baby boys both ended up with very traditional, yet trendy names. If we had had a girl, though, we would have most certainly named her Jillian. If we'd had two girls, I would have fought for Joslyn for the second. I'm a teacher, so I see a lot of names, and I would recommend traditional spellings. I know the unique ones are fun, but that baby has got to spell it in pre-k and kinder and every teacher after is likely to mispronounce it or mispell it repeatedly.

CHALAYA (pronounced SHuh-LIE-uh) That's my little sister's name. Everytime someone hears it, they say it's beautiful and that they have never heard it before. It's not in any baby books, even with a different spelling. It's unique. lol

I loved the name Isabella but everytime I told someone that they said oh my sister or cousin granddaughter w/e just named their daughter that or they thought it was because of that twilight movie ugh. Then I was reading a book one day and the girls name was Arabella and I thought perfect! It's not common and it's so beautiful! Good luck on your search and Congratulations being a mommy is great! : )

We had decided with my second child that either way boy or girl the baby's name was going to be Keegan. We were just going to spell it different. Girl was going to be Keagan Nicole but we ended up with Keegan Anthony. Also with my 4th child it was going to be Braxtin/Braxtyn....But I also like Camdyn for a girl.

We almost named our little girl Riley, which I was completely in love with. My husband got to pick the first name, which wound up being Reagan, and I love that name just as much :) The name I really wanted was Stella Maxine, but there was no way that one was going to fly!

When I was pregnant with my oldest I had picked out the name Brynn Aberdeen....I swore up and down that was the name I was going to use. About 3 weeks before I had her I had this dream where I could see her and man was she beautiful but her name wasn't Brynn it was Madeline. I woke up the next morning and said that's her name. My second child I spent countless hours on Babycenter.com just plugging away at baby names........Good Luck I hope it comes to you as easy as my first daughter

Why not find a name from your cultural heritage? (whatever that is) Our family is a mix of Irish, English, Polish, Hungarian. In the end we went for an Irish name that isn't uncommon in Ireland, but is pretty rare in England, where we live.

Our littler daughter (born 27 days ago) we named Cadence because it's an unusual name, yet we thought a very beautiful, musical name. :)
