Baby Stuffy nose

Hey there! My daughter Marley is 9weeks old and seems to be really stuffed up! I tried the nose bulb to suck stuff out..but nothing came. Any suggestions for a first time mommy? She seems to be sleeping better sitting up in her swing then laying down. But other then that I feel so bad that I can't help her with this stuffiness! Thanks! Heidi

HI Heidi! I called the Pedi about this same exact thing! They said it is very normal because their nasal passages are getting used to the alergens in the air. Savannah is still sounding this way. I am trying to not let it bother me too much. I tried saline in the nose, but that didn't help much. The Pedi said 1/4 teaspoon of salt in 8 oz of water to make the saline. She also has been coughing, but no fever, so I am not going to worry yet. Good luck!

Have you tried Ocean Spray? It's a saline spray that may help to loosen up the mucus to drain better... with infants you only drip it into the nostril, not spray.
