my daughter (3months) was born 7lb 2oz and is now 4.9 kg she is in the 9th percentile but her hight and head curcumfrence is all in prportion to her weight and the plunket nurse said she was just going to be petite, and will prbably always be below average with these graphs, my son however is always way above averge he has just turned 2 and wears size 3 clothes and looks like he is 3.5years as he is very tall. So every baby is different and as long as they are gaining weight at a contstant level I wouldnt worry.

My 10 week old little girl was 7lb 2oz at birth and now weighs in at 13lb exactly - just above the 50th percentile. As long as babies are gaining weight at a steady rate, I wouldn't worry. Besides your health visitor would tell you if your baby wasn't gaining enough weight in the clinic. x

babies should be gaining 30g = 1oz a day on average. they will have days which they lose weight and day which they gain.

My little one is 3 months old and weighs 10lb 12oz I think. It's around about the 9th centile which is fairly small, but as long as they're still actually gaining weight and are alert and developing well otherwise, it's not anything to worry about.

At least we got good use out of the newborn size clothes!!

I was told that babies gain 2lbs per month from birth to 3 months, 1lb/month from 4 to 6 months and half a pound per month from 7 to 12 months of age. Your pediatrician should be weighing and measuring your baby at every visit and will tell you if you have anything to worry about. Also, keep in mind that premature babies grow at a slower rate than full term babies.

all bubs are different!! unless ur doctor or health nurse is concerned dnt worry too much!! if u are that concerned speak to ur doc/health nurse and ask for some extra advise.. she is nearly old enough to start introducing farex(rice cerel) so when you start her on that she mite putt on a little weight..

the goal is to double their birth weight by 6 months...your doctor will be sure to let you know if the current pace is healthy.

It is a little on the small side, but if your doctor was concerned about it she would tell you. If your doctor doesn't seem concerned, don't sweat it.
