Best season to birth in?

I'm wondering what season people think is the best to birth in? Is spring/summer better so that you don't have to get up to feed in the dark and cold or is autumn/winter better so baby can sleep better in cooler temperatures?

I had my son at the end of July last year. Being pregnant during the summer wasn't so bad for me because I live along Lake Erie, in the US, having a lake breeze is wonderful and I spent most of my time on a raft or sitting on a beach chair with my feet in the water. Although being cooped up in the house during winter with a baby during the ages of 4 months to 8 months old is no picnic. For our next one I'd like to have a spring birth, I think.... LOL I think there are positives and negatives for any season. :)

I"ve only had the one baby, and he just turned 3 months old on the 21st. I was very happy to be pregnant over the winter because I was always so hot.... couldn't imagine being 8 or 9 months along during the summer months! And I really agree with Lisa - next summer my son will be 1 year old and walking (hopefully!) and he will love it out on our acreage with our dogs. I am also glad that by the time winter hits, Micah will be a little older and it won't be so scary to take him out during the winter. But I do have to say, that the day we brought him home from the hospital, it was in the middle of a freezing rain storm (April 25th!).

my son was born at the end of jan (28th) this year.

i hated being pregnant in summer .. suffered from migranes cuz of the heat .. and i was only a few months gone! so i'd absolutely have hated it if i was heavily pregnant .. suffered from enough hot and dizzy spells in winter .. thanks lol.

anyway other than that although a few days after my son was born it snowed (1st feb .. the day he was due it started snowing .. febs supposed to be coldest month) and he suffered from a lot of colds when he was tiny ..its helped with his immune system i guess.

and now its summer he's older and being weaned so i can feed him things to cool him down .. plus i'm a winter baby and love having my birthday close to xmas

I think late spring is great. You've avoided the possibility of a snow storm in the winter, yet it's not hot enough that you are totally uncomfortable. And then by the time they are a year and walking, it's summer the next year and you can have a lot of fun and get out. Just my opinion, but my babies were born in June of 07 and May of 09. It's great so far. And it's easy to leave them in a diaper if it's too hot, and they are a little older by the time winter comes and can regulate their temp a little easier. - Wondering what everyone else will say. Interesting question.
