Hi, none of my 2 older boys used bottles and I HAVE TO get my 5 week old to use a bottle in 4 weeks. What would you moms recommend?

I always have to warm the bottles (of breastmilk) a little warmer than I think for my current baby to take a bottle. I can literally pump straight into a bottle, but he will not take it unless it's warmer. So you might try playing with the temperature too.
We use Dr. Brown bottles too (a couple times a week) and despite all the extra parts, I'm vey pleased with them.

I just posted this for someone else and it might help you. It is alternatives to bottlefeeding for the breastfed baby. http://www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/alter...

Are you swapping to formula as well, or expressing? This could make a difference as to how you approach things.
If you are expressing I would bottle feed during the hours you are going to be away from your baby and breast feed the rest of the time - but keep the schedule the same for your days off, or you'll cause confusion - likewise, don't try to mix breast & bottle at one feed or you'll likely cause confusion and possibly put baby off feeding altogether.
You may have to try several different brands of bottle or teat until you find one that your baby will take, and it might be that someone else needs to bottle feed (if the baby knows you are there they might refuse the bottle because they know they could have the breast), although as the baby gets used to the new breast/bottle routine you may be able to bottle feed without much problem.
If you are going to go with formula I would just go for it - stop breast feeding altogether (be prepared for very full, hard and sore boobs for a while until your body realizes it doesn't need to make any more milk).
The comments above about someone else feeding and swapping bottles/teats also goes for this method.
I found the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles really good, and the teats are quite boob like, although a completely different shape might work better.
Also if baby is reluctant to take the bottle try using a faster teat than is recommended by the manufacturer - the fast milk flow might make all the difference between reluctance to take the bottle and acceptance.
Don't forget to use your childcare professionals for help and support - Health Visitors, day care workers, Docs etc should all be able to support you, or at least point you to someone else who can give you the support!
Whichever route you take, good luck, and I hope everything goes well.
(ps - I'm a qualified & experienced day car professional as well as a mother of 2 young boys)

i've always loved avent bottles. i used them for both my kids. they come in various size, and correct nipples for whatever age the baby is. that's just my recommendation as it worked so well for both my kids! and their not as expensive as all those other brands that claim the same thing as avent does!
