C-Section Or Pushing.....

I didn't even realise I was in labour with my daughter until I was contracting every 2 mins! Call me ditzy......yes,natural blond!.....but on the tv & movies women seem to stop abruptly clutch their stomach & start howling so I was convinced it would happen all of a suddne whereas it was more a gradual build & not that bad.....until the end......so convinced it was just Braxtons DOH! By the time we got to the hospital I was 8cms had gas & air & out she popped 3hrs later. I'm convinced it was the G&A that slowed everything down. My son was a planned homebirth but decided he couldn't wait so hubby had to stop filling the pool & deliver him on the bathroom floor! 3hrs start to finish, about 5 pushes & ta daaa! Mind you, Ihave tilted womb & the MW said when baby's ready to come they'll pop out lol x

I had a planned c-section (although it ended up being a sort of "emergency" c-section since my water broke the night before the planned) I had to have one because of a bad back and I wish they would have let me push.



The recovery is longer and it seems that you have a permanent pouch that only a tummy tuck can fix no matter how much weight you lose. The crease is just always there and now they think I have a hernia there too.

First time I pushed, I was 6 cm when I got to the hopsital, didnt know I was even in labor, doctor just sent me there going "get there fast, i'll meet you there and well have this kid now!"
got there at 5, had her at 7:26 pm I think maybe half an hour of hard labor?
Hoping in 2 weeks time the second one will be even easier!
(All natural too, didnt even have time first time around, but I wanted natural anyway so hurrah)

I've done both. With my son I pushed for 4 hours, and he hadn't moved down any yet, so we had to go c-section. Then this time I had a scheduled c-section. I really enjoyed pushing my son, it was an amazing feeling, best part of the entire labor. The scheduled c-section was nice and easy. The only thing is it is taking FOREVER to heal.

Our one and only, lil girl, Anabelle was a long and first labor for me...I had G.D. in my pregnancy and they had me control my sugars very well, they orginally thought she'd be bigger than normal. She was supposed to arrive a week befroe I actually had her but it was a no show and they scheduled me for an induction. WHen I arrived at the hospital, they'd given me pitocin and other meds to keep me comfortable and keep the labor progressing. 37 hours later she was born but it was close to a C-Section as it had taken me so long to deliver and many issues within those hours with my baby. I gave one extra big push and my child was born. Come to find out she had a limp arm from getting hung up on my pelvis. She also didn't want to come out! I am so glad I didn't have a C-Section from all that work. I was devestated to hear the OBGYN tell me that it would happen. Also devestating to know my child had a rought time, not to mention her arm condition. It was groueling process!! her arm has since healed and she is now 9 months old. I'd do it all over again, just NEVER a C-Section! A personal decision, I just never wanted one :) Congrats on your babies too :)

I had a c section over a year ago and am still suffering the consequences--incisional hernia repair and perhaps more surgeries. I would never have another c section if possible

I have three kids and I had them all naturally. I pushed for about 10 minutes with all of them. The last one, I had drugs, but they didn't work.

I had emergency c-section after 15 hours of contractions. I hadn't dilated and the baby was stressed so they took me straight to theatre. I was happy to have the section after all that work and nothing happening. I also know that it was best for baby. It only took me 2 weeks to recover.

Naturally delivered my son. Laboured (hard) for about 2 hours and 2 hours of pushing. (they had me start pushing too early, but I'll know better for next baby!) I wouldn't have had it any other way, natural birthing is such a great experience!

Pushed both of my girls out. The first in less than 20mins and the second in 13 minutes. I wanted them OUT! lol I am so thankful I was able to have my children the "traditional" way. :)

I pushed out all 3 of my kids. My first i was in labor for 16 hours and pushed for 15 mins, my second I was in labor for 19 hours and pushed for an hour and with my last I was in labor for 8 hours and pushe 20 mins. My youngest had be vacuumed out.

All three of my kids were c-section the first one was an emergency c-section because i had a blood pressure of 206 over 135 and the last two were by choice to have them the same way because theres a risk that says that the c-section can rupture and smother the baby so we had decided to play it safe just in case and that way everyone had a chance to make it through all of it

i had to have an emergency c-section, after 16 hours of labour with no pain meds because my son stopped breathing and i was only 8cm dilated. would have loved to given birth naturally but i know the the c-section was the best & safest choice. :)

I had a c-section. I was in labor for 72 hrs and I was only 2cm. I wanted to have my baby at home but my wonderfull midwife sent me to the hospital as soon as she checked me because she knew he wasn't going to fit. But the doc made me labor for three days before he sectioned him ot. But now he is a beautifull 9 month old. He was worth very bit of labor:)

I went natural with no drugs. It was the most painful thing I ever went through but all worth it. I was in labour for over 24 hours and had four and a half hours of pushing. I cried for an epidural but they wouldn't give me anything because my baby wasn't moving down by herself, I had to push her into the canal and the midwife said that if she gives me an epidural I won't be able to push her down and will end up with an emergany c-section. My baby girl is now 7 weeks old and the most beautiful little thing I have ever seen. So worth the pain and I would do it all again in a heartbeat!! :-)

Its actually really common for the baby to have the cord wrapped(even twice) around his/her neck.
Most often its loose and just slipped over babys head once the head is born.

Like a lot of others, I was induced because my ob-gyn thought the baby was too big. After a night on the cervadil and fourteen hours of labor, about ten hours of hard labor, and a manual water-breaking, they had maxed me out on pitocin. I ended up having my very average 7 lb. 4 oz. baby by c-section. But it's a good thing I did - the cord was wrapped around his neck twice. I healed quickly, and I'm glad I had the c-section, even though I hadn't wanted one.

i had a labour of 8 hours and then haemorrhaged and had to have an emergency c section, i was 9cms dilated and only had had gas & air up to this point. i was gutted i was unable to deliver my lil girl myself but it was touch and go for us both we both lost a lot of blood, Millie is now 18weeks old.

I am curious as to what type of incision scar you have?

It could be, that you are indeed able to have the natural birth if you desire quite safely.

There is a lot of really great info and resources out there about VBAC.

I went through both... I wanted to have him natural way but he had gotten caught on my pelvic bone so he only crowned and then they had to do a emergency C-section because his heart rate went up. I was enduced at 830, water broke about 12am and then started pushing about 5am and then the c-section and he was out 655am.. so so about 10hrs i was in labour.

My Poopy Man was pushed out n he was n ICU for a week becus he took his first breathe nside and swallowed sum fluids but 11.4lbs later he is doin real good
