I had ovarian cycst since I was a teen. I had to go to a fertility specialist to get pregannt with our first child. However, the docot stated it was my hormone levels which were off. He stated those same hormones that were off could have been the causes for the cysts. You might talk to you OBGYN if you are trying to get pregnant. My regiment was simple and I was pregnant with in 6 months.

Hello, I want to try to tell you my story as quickly as I can, I am going to be 36 in 2 weeks, when I was 17 I had my 1st surgeery to remove cysts off my ovaries, then another when I was 24, in between the surgeries I was married for a short time and told I couldnt get pregnate because of endometriosis, he called it unexplained infertility, I was on fertility drugs for 5 months, but after we divorced and i met my future husband (2nd) we did the same, seman tested, fertility drugs, no answers as to why it wasnt happening...so a few more relationships that failed, and around 30 I just let it be, let myself be ok with never having a child, i wanted one so badly, moms got pregnate that didnt want them, abortions, I was so sad, but last year at this time for my 35th birthday, I received the best gift of my whole life, a pregnancy test telling me i was pregnate! I was in such shock and all my friends and family coldnt believe after all the yrs of trying and i was pregnate at 35, the father was not someone who i was going to be with, he is a married man whos wife and him were seperated, i was working for him and he fed me all the lines that he thought i never heard, but did, he was lonely and i was to, we had sex maybe 3 times, i still dont understand why it happened with who it happened with, but i thank God every night that I lay him in his crib, a healthy little boy, even the sex that i wanted! although i would love a girl the same, I gave up hope at about 27 yrs. old, then 8 yrs later, it happened, i had a c-section and he found a cyst the size of a grapefruit on my right ovary and had to remove my ovary and tube, I still can get pregnate again with the left ovary and tube, dont know if i ever will, i am fighting for child support from my boys dad, him and his wife are back togehter and she dont allow him tosee or send money, he has the whole pregnancy and the 3 months of his life, he only saw him 2 times for an hour, i dont want him in his life, i just am hoping nothing will happen that he could get out of paying he is a millionaire and has attorneys and the money to buy the best of everything, but he doesnt know his baby and dont want him, if you happen to have ever heard of soeone having a baby to a married man, let me know, i am ashamed of my actions but i got the son i wanted for years because of it, good luck

A cyst in the ovary can affect your ability to get pregnant .. I have Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and i was diagnosed with it when i was around 18. I was given medicine for it and I wasn't trying but I got pregnant when i was 20 and had chances of having miscarriages but i was fine and now they haven't seen anymore ovaries...

i have a friend that just had one of her ovaries removed a few months ago due to medical complications and she is a couple months pregnant now. we were all surprised but if she can have a baby with only one ovary then i dont see how an ovarian cyst could keep you from getting pregnant. but then again i have no idea about anything medical either. haha

I have polycistic ovaries and found out that I did when I was 14 and they told me I might have trouble having children when I get older. I now have 2 children and even got pregnant on the pill with my first. I still have cists and get cramps pretty bad but I have not had trouble getting pregnant. Everyone is different though!

i have read that sometimes it can be difficult to get pregnant when you have an ovarian cyst, you should ask your obgyn and they can tell you if an ovarian cyst can affect your ability to get pregnant or not.

no it doesn't mean you can't have a baby. i had a cist in my ovary when i was 14, i found out cus i had gotten pregnant n my doc spotted it in my ultrasound. it got taken out. and as you can see i have a beautiful healthy baby boy. you should let your doc know if ur tryn to get pregnant so they can keep a good eye on it.

it didnt in my case..i have had ovarian cysts for the last 7 years (diagnosed) and was hospitalized once for having one the size of a softball rupture into my stomach.. i had to be on birthcontrol to control the cysts (size and amount of them) and i got off the pill to have my first son.. it only took 1 try after being off the pill. but it could be different if you have a different kind of cyst or a different level of severity. i would ask you ob/gyn about it next time you go in for a check up.
