Can the change from formulas change your baby?

I started out with breast feeding my daughter then every so often i would give her the Similac formula that the hospital required us to give her. Then with the moving from Vegas to Bakersfield my milk dried and continued giving her the Similac formula. Now with money being so tight our WIC here in California offers Enfamil, my daughter is only 13 weeks and so far ive been giving her the Enfamil formula but shes been drooling a lot more, pushing, acting fussy, more constipated. I'm not sure if this is fully because of the new formula we have been using? And shes also waking up more frequently

@Nichole Bates- the similac formula was all that they offered @ there hosp. but thanks goodness princess is feeling better now i have her on the enfimal (yellow) & she's enjoying it like no other(: Geeez WIC can be a pain though, is your son liking the baby food, I know it's a lil past the 28th now witch is good, he's 6 months YAY((: I cant wait until princess is 6months she'll be able to do a lot more ?

@Sarah Clemente- So far were waiting for the results to see if this pediatrician accepted our application, i guess with the insurance we have it takes time :( but good my daughter is okay, how is your lil one holding up with the formula now?

Changing formula can upset them, also being fully formula fed instead of comp fed could be upsetting her tummy also because of the change. They usually take a few weeks to get used to it.

Yeah, changing their food can definately upset their bellies, which in turn, upsets a lot of other things. We had to change our daughter from breastmilk to formula and it was a nightmare! Then we had to switch formulas and Again, nightmare. I'd talk to your pediatrician about it, they may be able to get you back on your odl formula (amazing what a dr's note can do!)

Why did they require you to give her formula?????? Odd...... Hmm..... Our son started teething very early, at 2 months old. He drooled more. So I would think that a symptom of teething starting. He still doesn't have teeth in by the way haha

WIC is a tad annoying. By my sons 5th month, they gave us a bunch of baby food (watch out) I was like 'he's only 5 months old, he doesnt turn 6 until the 28th, at the end of the month?! he can't eat foods yet' and they said 'the foods start in the month he TURNS 6 months old..... doesnt matter the date' so we were shorted formula and given food he cant eat. Yippee..... oh and when I went to buy this stuff to keep around until he can, i couldnt find 1st foods. Because of the jar size requirements, they don't cover any of the packages the 1st foods come in, so I had to buy all 2nd foods...... which are mixed and you arent supposed to do because your supposed to test your baby for allergies first..... i mean, come on, really people?! I was so mad. So they shorted us formula and gave us food he cant eat for a while. Fun.

Now, if your baby is used to your breastmilk, formula will be different on their system. Their poops will be different and her body may be struggling to adjust big time. There are different formulas you can try. The Enfamil Baby formula, little blue can someone gave us for free, made my son sick. dont know whats in it, he hated it.... went back to the yellow.. but he had sooooooooo much gas it hurt him so bad. it was aweful. he was bloated, farted constantly and was in pain from it too. so we tried rice formula, soy........ they both constipated him. gentlease, none of it helped us. but there are other brands you can try. its an EXPENSIVE process though, because if they dont like it or get worse, you are out 25$ for the can and running to the store for the next. we've kept them all as back up and had to use a few scoops here and there so its nice for emergencies but no fun on the wallet. They all have their usages, and WIC will pay for any of them (usually, ask to make sure before you try them, get a written list) if they are enfamil so know what to try? Gentlease is supposed to be a bit preprocessed so its easier on their systems because its pre-broken down? Some babies don't handle milk well so they go soy or something I cant quite remember. But you'll know whats best when you go through all of them. Trust your instincts and you'll be good when testing :)

For us, we kept using the Enfamil Premium yellow can and started using Drop Ins system by Playtex, mixing his bottles and then burping the air AND allllllllllll the foam out of them. If you make the bottle and let it sit for a few it will do this on its own and all you have to do is rid the air but if you need to feed them right away you have to burp foam out of them..... it has taken away his gas 100%. I love these bottles, I wouldn't use ANYTHING else.
