That's normal, so don't worry! My son was just like that...he didn't poo for 7 days when he was first born, and was pretty much like that until he was about 2 months old! Are you breastfeeding? If so it's normal. Also, try bending the baby's knees into his/her tummy, and push gently...that really helped my little guy out alot!

I heard that iron in formula can make them constipated. If not on formula I am no help - my boy pooped all the time, now he is 1x/every 3 days or so, since he started eating cereal.

Yes, it is so true. Breastfed babies can go days without poop. Mine would go once every two weeks.

If you're breastfeeding it is completely normal for a baby to only poop every 7 days, I'm sure about formula fed babies though. If you're really concerned I would ask baby's doctor.

Hi Julie! I wouldn't worry. Mine went three days without pooping several times her first few weeks because of formula/breastmilk issues. I finally gave her a suppository because she was straining so hard. I also gave her prune juice (up to 3 teaspoons) once a day or so in a bottle, per her doctor. I was way more worried about it than her doctor was. :) Hope this helps.
