YES. Prevention is the key! If I can avoid using products containing chemicals that are carcinogens, I will! The important thing to do is switch to items you know you love! Some green products aren't effective and are quite expensive.

Absolutuley!! I have a child with ADD....we have converted our home to a natural product line for sure. It has made day to day life alot easier for all of us. Be careful which brand you pick. Some claim to be natural but aren't really.

Oh....and Diapers.com has the gDiapers supplies, too. (If you order from Diapers.com - they seem to be the same price as Amazon and you'd probably be able to return the gpants - if for some reason you didn't like them. ??)

Too funny, Melissa! We're getting lots of indoor plants, too! Hahah! ...and have you heard of little gDiapers? Our kiddo hasn't been born yet, so I can't speak first hand on them - but my sister loves them and says they haven't leaked. www.gdiapers.com. The diapers come with little gpants that you put biodegradable liners in... The liners are also flush-able. We're going to give them a try and see if they're any good. Oh...and you can subscribe via Amazon's Mom's club to get them delivered and when you do that - you get like 25-30% off. Again - haven't done any of this myself yet, but going to give it a try. ;-)

I am all about natural, too! I always dabbled in organics and naturals before my girl was born, but I am now a firm believer. Although the surgeon general says that no scientific studies can link the hormones and antibiotics in mass-produced foods to cause problems, I have heard too many stories and would just prefer not to take the risk. All of my household cleaners are now natural, I feed my daughter only organic foods, and I am seeing a natural doctor for my own medical issues. The natural meds are great because they really produce results without nasty side-effects or addictive properties of traditional medicine.

Yes, we were being more green before we got pregnant but have done more since she has been here. I only use green cleaners and laundry detergent. We feed her only organic foods, no pesticides. We do use formula but only 1 week left until she is on organic milk. We recycle as well. We try as much as possible.

Definately, I feel that it's important to minimize Zef's exposure to VOC's as much as possible for several reasons. #1. We don't have any one clearly defined cause of autism but exposure to pesticides are one theory/vaccines are another.. #2. This will be my Son's world when I'm gone, I owe our future generations my effort. #3. Can't hurt!

Yes. Everything we put ON or IN our baby is natural and organic. We want only the best for our baby and want her to be the healthiest she can be while we have control over that. Later in life we will not have full control like we do now. So we are taking advantage ;)

Absolutely! As some mentioned below especially once you have children you become a little more conscience of what you use. But I have seen my whole family benefit including my asthmatic reactions to fabric softner. I too started using Melaleuca products and after seeing and experienceing better health and well being, and seeing my nephew to be medicine, and inhaler free after only 2 months of using safer products, I am now also a rep for this company. I found myself talking to everyone about the amazing products! And now, they are allowing me to work from home while raising my two children. So a resounding YES- they are very relevant in my life! If anyone is interested in sampling these products please msg me! Risk Free!

Melanie, Melaleuca has a great product for eczema it's a lotion called renew. Raquel, I know it makes sense to me but people always have excuses like they don't want to commit to buying that much a month, or they're not organized enough. I started out marketing it and still don't have any customers. I'm a little frustrated but I know it'll come

I feel natural products are more relevant in my life. I have a friend that works in the herbal/homeopathic section at Dischem and I always go to her first for something then my doctor as a second option. I really believe natural works a lot better then all the chemicals that are in other medications. Another advantage of natural products is that there are hardly any side effects and that is the BEST!!

I find i have to use natural products, for my daughter Lilli-Jayde, she suffers from exzema. So it's always natural products for her. I feel so bad coz she wants to wear make up like her friends, but her skin reacts really bad from it.
Aqueous is the best soap free wash that i've found to use. I have tried goat soap but that just irritated her more.

Hello Anna! The vitamins are the best!
I tried them years ago when I was an assistant manager at an apartment property. I did a consumer's report search on best vitamins & Melaleuca's vitamins were ranked best. I noticed that one of my residents was ordering from them. Then I began ordering from him. Then I began ordering cleaning products as my poor mom would cough horribly when cleaning her home.
I regret that I forgot about Melaleuca all these years. I had an "aha" moment two months ago. I was realizing how much I was spending on green products and supplements for my family, and at that I was not so thrilled about the quality.
Then I remembered Melaleuca! I became a member & am so glad I did. I now have better quality products that are safe for my family & at better prices. Now I want all my friends and family that I love and care for to become members. How could anyone say no, safer products, better quality, better prices for the quality, save time by ordering online, save money, and loyalty dollars... not to mention only $1 to become a member now!

my friend is a NICU nurse and takes care of the most fragile, sick and preterm babies in the hosptial. They use J&J products and she assured me, because these babies are in such a fragile state, the hosptial would not use anything that could hurt them or make them worse. That kind of put it in perspective for me. Im just talking about baby bath products, lotions, diapers etc. So no, such things are not relevant in my life.

We've always been about green cleaning products and eating organically, but now with bambino on the way - we're even MORE conscious about all of those things plus keeping baby in organic clothing, playing with non-toxic toys, and using no-VOC paint, etc... For those of you who live in Austin - there's a GREAT store called House & Earth. We found it when we were looking for No-VOC paint that REALLY was No-VOC (even when colors were added) and covered really well! They carry Mythic Paint and we were really impressed with their entire store! www.houseandearth.com

I would ditto Raquels post. We are assalted by chemicals everyday and it is hard on ones body to defend itself. The more natural the better. My daughter in law does everything organic with my grandchildren and they are very healthy.

I am getting more and more into it. I have a 15 month old daughter, and I have just started buying and representing a company called Melaleuca. They are great!! They make cleaning products, makeup, health food, vitamins, shampoo/conditioner etc. and everything is all natural. I don't know where you get your "green stuff" but some of Melaleuca's products are cheaper than the grocery store, like the cleaning products are 6x concentrate so they last alot longer. If anyone is interested I would love to help you get started.

Absolutely. I always spring for the green products at the grocery store, even if it's a bit more expensive. The more natural, the better. We also recycle and compost religiously both at work and home. Being green is definitely a big part of my life.

I absolutely believe that natural products play a very important role in my life. Personally for me, I have no allergies, more energy & more focus. My son has autism, and I know it has benefited him tremendously. He has progressed from being severly autistic to now his doctor has diagnosed him as having PDD. Most of my son's autistic symptoms are no longer or almost gone. Three years ago my son would not have been able to do karate or swimming. He now has confidence and the coordination to do so. This year they mainstreamed my son in social studies. I received an email from his teacher yesterday, and he has a 98% while the class average is an 80%. My son has never been on medication. His treatment is occupational & speech therapy. Karate is now a new form of therapy for him. He takes quality vitamins and supplements. I have also looked into natural forms of healing to assist him. Those with autism do not have the enzymes needed to metabolize and break down toxins. Therefore, they have a build-up of toxins. Thus causing autistic symptoms. If you do research on toxicity... so much of it is to blame for so many diseases such as auto-immune diseases like lupus, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis. Toxins are also linked to adhd, autism, and other neurological behaviors. My brother is a cancer survivor. One of the first things his dr told him was to rid his house of toxins and go natural. I am big on natural and organic for my son & the health of my family. Cancer killed both my grandfathers (lung & stomach cancers). My grandmother was a breast cancer survivor. My brother had testicular cancer at the age of 40. Now my dear sister at the age of 48 is having surgery today because she has colon cancer. Yes, I am all about natural!
