Is S26 Gold for Newborns making your child constipated?

Becareful my sister S26 is the worse milk when it comes to weight gain...scientifically prove even by its nutritional contents...

When my daughter was born, I considered putting her on S26 Gold. But i did a bit of research and my health nurse told me that S26 Gold can actually cause constipation. So i just used normal S26 newborn and she didn't have another problem, until we found out she had reflux and we just switched to S26 AR. Now she is 8 months old and on S26 progress.

i have been using S26 Gold formula for 3 months and since it has been reformulated my daughter has been terribly constipated. I use to dilute the formula and give her exrtra water every day but it didnt help. I have only just started using nestle nan pro and my daughter seems to be doing fine on it. She doesnt vomit after every feed like she did with the S26 gold.

I started our lil boy on S26 Gold and it made him really constipated so I consulted my bible ( aka the Internet hehe), and it suggested Karicare Gold which we have been on since he was little and he hasn't been constipated once. He's now 10 months old and on Step 2, which is great and I was told that S26 gold is bad for constipation, so you may want to consider a change if it doesn't suit your bubby. :) Good luck

if you didnt want to change formular you could try giving her a dose of infant friends it worked really well with my little girl

When I had to switch to S26 Gold formula I stood in the aisle for about 20 minutes just comparing the tins. I discovered that the nutriental benefits of the S26 gold labels weren't really that great. The hospital used normal s26 when my daughter was being tube feed, so I just went with the normal tin. We had no issues with it. My daughter has now moved onto s26 step 2 and in the beginning it really upset her tummy, but I can't be sure if that was because she started solids or the baby formula changed....

I started my son on S26 Gold and yes! he had constipation, really bad tummy pains etc. We used S26 Gold for 3 weeks with no improvement, so I changed to Karicare Gold, which I used for my first son 8 years ago.

I think it's the high Iron content that makes them so backed up ... I compared tins and from memory, S26 Gold has a higher Iron content than Karicare Gold.

We have no pooping problems whatsoever now :). That's my only advice, maybe switch formulas.

when i first had my baby i was told not use s26 gold because it is to stronge for newborn babies so i always used just the normal wyeth s26 formula & i have no problems with my children on it so maybe just try the normal s26 formula and see how she goes
