My son is 6 1/2 weeks old and he is always spitting up which is okay with me but he occasionally "throws up" where it comes out of his mouth and nose forcefully, and my other concern is that he looks as if hes in pain and cries and then once he spits up alot he does better. He coughs a lot as well. I have a dr appt in 8 days but i'm not sure i want to put him on prescription this soon :( Could this be reflux? Would Gripe water help? or is there a good safe prescription? Help please....

my son also had to be on prosobee i dont think it was from acid reflux though

my son had GERD acid reflux that age, i was up all night few times hed cry during day i strongly recommend the zantac prescription, i didnt like giving him medicine but he was amazingly different after 2 doses! it is very painful for them its like heartburn, i tryed gripe water it does work for lil bit but the zantac was best!! my son had it til he was around 6 months so im glad there was zantac so he wasnt in pain anymore! its not that bad ! good luck

Both of my kids have reflux bad.. They are both on Ranitidine {Zaytac}. My son Harley was 2 weeks old when we put him on the and soy milk.. NO lie it helped alot.. My daughter Jaya was on it the first day of life.. She was born with Gastrochisis insides were outside her body.. If it is Reflux the Gripe water won't help alot.. but if i am understanding this right. That is what it is sounding like to me.. Those are the same things my kids did.. Hopes that maybe this will help..
