My son is 4months old and has been smiling and grinning since he was inside of me…I have 3D ultrasound pics of him doing that.
Every morning he wakes with a smile on his face…..EVERY morning with out fail, he will open his eyes, find me, if im there and smile at me…it so sweet to see him do that, and I cant help but smile even though im tired, but it makes me wonder what was he dreaming of or what is he thinking, but most of all why do sum babies wake up like him and others wake up screaming bloody murder? Or crying hysterically?
Anyone know, and how does your baby wake up??

My son wakes up, stands, and immediately starts jumping in bed and calling out for me. If I don't respond after a few minutes he'll start crying then. He'll be a year this month.

I tend to sleep until my little one's crying wakes me up, so I'm not sure...
He can see me walk into his room, though, and he usually stops his crying and gives me the biggest smile he has. It's a wonderful feeling to see that every morning.

During the week, most mornings, I have to wake Fiona up as I leave for work at 6:10, but even then, I just talk to her and she will stretch and starts to smile. This morning, she woke up on her own and when I went in to get her (not knowing she was awake) she had started to turn herself around and play in her crib.

I love the fact that she wakes up in such a good mood. She will smile and 'talk' all the way to the sitters so my mornings are a very happy time.

My daughter is 9 months old and when she wakes up she just lies there slowly waking up and then starts babbling to herself. When myself or my husband goes in to get her she has the BIGGEST smile. Its the best way to start the day :)

LOL my little man wakes up smiling, too. Sometimes he sleeps with a smile on his face. He has been smiling since he was born, although some said it was gas. I knew it wasnt because he hasnt stopped smiling yet. I have no idea why because I am the exact opposite unless of course Im with him. LOL

Even when i put him down for a nap and give him his pacifier he just looks up and smiles and coo's OMG i love it! The best is in the morning when he first sees me and gets a bolt of excitement and gets super giddy! LOL How sweet they all are! ♥

My little Eli wakes up smiling and happy every morning. He also belly laughs in his sleep and smiles the biggest grins. I love when he does this. I don't know what makes it happen but I am so blessed to see his happy face every morning.

my little girl is always happy when she wakes up (unless she is startled awake of course). when i hear her moving and look over to her she smiles and giggles. and is always so happy for a while after that, until she feels hungry that is. it makes me so happy to see her smiling face first thing in the morning. :)

My little girl's always smiling when she wakes up first thing in the morning. She just smiles and laughs at everything. That's not always true for waking up from a nap. She's quiet, and you can tell she's still trying to wake up. Sometimes she's a little fussy when she wakes from a nap (not that often though), however she's always so happy in the morning. I wake up to her talking up a storm in her crib. It's so cute.

same as we as adults wake up differently.
some wake up in bad mood and all they do is scream at everyone around them, some wake up with big smile t the world only because the sun is shining.....
same with babies - I assume your baby is the relaxed one and part of it is the fact that you are relaxed and he fills it, good for you enjoy it

My son (2 yrs old) NEVER! the second he was conscience he was screaming!
My daughter (11 wks) is a smiley little thing. she wakes up smiling and cooing and continues that way throughout the day. she makes me laught because one minute she'll be screaming in my arms and then abruptly stop and look up at me and start grinning??? lol i can't help but laugh at her. just recently she's been stopping mid-nursing to have a smile and a chat. Think she's going to be a social butterfly ;)

My baby wakes up smiling too. He also giggles in his sleep. It is the cutest thing in the world. I am not sure why some wake up smiling or screaming.
