It really depends what he can take, I know my son uses dr brown bottles, and the slow flow is 0-3 months the medium 3-6months and fast 6+ and hes on the fast and handles it well.

My 8 week old daughter has been on fast flow nipples from the day she came home from the hospital, we have never had any issues with her, I guess it depends on the baby :)

My son's 15 weeks old and is on medium flow teats. Just try hbim with the fast flow and if he can't cope with the speed of the flow go back to the slow flow.

my daughter just turned 6 months on the 11th ans shes been on the fast flow since 3 or 4 months i think not 100% sure. but we never really used medium flow. i use the parents choice nipples and it says the months on them. my daughter gets aggravated with the slow flow cuz its too slow but we never had a spitting up problem or tummy ache. i think its up to your baby, try out a fast flow and see how it works out. at first my daughter kept choking but she got use to it

My son is younger than yours (almost 6 months) and he's still on slow flow nipples as well. The other day I tried out a different bottle with a fast flow nipple, and he ended up getting a horrible stomach ache. I'm not sure if it was the new bottle that did it, or the fact that he ate so fast due to the fast flow nipple. Sometimes I feel like he gets impatient with the slow flow nipples, though. I am going to try again soon with another fast flow nipple, but the same bottle that he's been using to see if that works better. Sorry I wasn't much help lol.

With my first son I didn't know there was a difference and kept the slow flow, the nipples that came with the bottle on the whole time and he never complained about it. My younger son is 7 months and still on slow flow because it ends up all over the floor anyways. He drinks, gets bored and rather play with the bottle.

Ive always been on medium flow, I always found the slow flow too much work for him and with the fast flow he gulps the entire bottle down in a minute , then spits up a fair amount, so we have always been on medium flow
