My 2 month old is up to 4 ounces but I have been freezing 6 oz at a time and was wondering if I coud combine 2 bags to get 3 bottles? Also how long does thawed milk last in the fridge?

24 hours after it is thawed ..freshly expressed milk can be stored in the fridge for up to a week. And even if it is within thhose guidelines i always smell it and find that sometimes it just doesnt smell right even if its only been a few hours so I toss it out and get a new one.

if you thaw the EBM in the fridge it lasts 24hrs. so yes u can combine EBM bags. if you thawed the EBM in warm water or at room temp then i think it needs to be used straight away.

Yes, you can definitely combine bags of milk. Once frozen milk is thawed it is only good for 24hrs.

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

hmm strange...when i was in the Nicu with my son..the nurses and lactation consultant said 24hrs should be the max time once its thawed from the freezer. I suppose if you get worried about it just smell it or taste it..u will know..good luck

you are fine to combine bags. what i do is, put hot water in a metal loaf pan and put the bag in for a few minutes till the bag is thawed...the bag will cool the water down as it melts...so it doesnt make the milk really warm...then just separate the milk into the different bottles. Even if the milk gets too warm b4 its separated its still fine to refridgerate it, and as long as baby hasnt drank from the bottle...you can get 24hrs!!

I exclusively pumped for 8 months,..so if u have any questions..feel free to message me!! good luck
