Funny Hospital/Labor Stories?

having been my first pregnancy i was always alittle worried i was doing something wrong. i was 2 weeks late and SOOOO ready to have my body back. so when my dr. told me that being induced took a really long time and i would be in labor for awile i was ok with sitting in my bed and dealing with it. but that didnt happen. we got to the hospital at 6am i was admitted and sitting in my bed by 7am the dr came and induced me at 8:30 my first contraction came at 12pm. by 1pm i was 6cm by 2 i was 9cm, and at 2:45 i started to push. alexandria was born at 3:33.it went so quick that my husband missed it, as he had stepped out to give my family an update. when he retured he was all hurt and upset he said with a completely serious face "screw this we are starting all over put that baby back!" the nurses took a ful 2 minutes to recover laughing before they could hand my husband his daughter.

I woke my boyfriend up and told him I thought I was having contractions and that we needed to go to the hospital. He sat up said ok and then looked at me and asked, "WHAT AM I DOING?" I repeated myself and as we walked out the door, he asked, "WHERE ARE WE GOING?"



My boyfriend and I thought the doors to the front of the hospital opened at 5am, but they actually opened at 5:30am. We were there at 5:23am and he rang the bell and said, "UMM, I KNOW YOU DON'T OPEN 'TIL 5:30, BUT COULD YOU LET US IN EARLY? WE DON'T WANT TO WALK ALL THE WAY TO THE EMERGENCY SIDE."



When we got in, and into the room, we weren't sure if we were having the baby that day because I was going through preterm labor for the second time. When the nurse announced that we were going to have a baby that day, my boyfriend was asleep. She woke him up and asked, "HOW CAN YOU BE SLEEPING? WAKE UP! DON'T YOU KNOW YOUR GIRLFRIEND IS HAVING A BABY?!" He gave her a dirty look and replied, "SHE'S NOT HAVING IT NOW, IS SHE?! LEAVE ME ALONE!"



He was better after he took a shower. He's not a morning person =]

when i had my first child after birth they put me in the shower first thing .and i have to say that i'm anemic so i passed out and the shower sprayer fell out of the tub and got water all over,i woke up to see light on the ceiling and the nurse came in and i said i must have passed out.so they got me out and i passed out again and my husband said i fell on a big nurse and she caught me on the bed.he said he didn't know what to do because he was holding our baby he said it scared him to death so that was our scary moment.

when i went in to labour my mum kept on teling me it was a false alarm as i was early, when i got in to hospital 2 hours later the midwife said i was nine centimeters! mum then proceeed to ask if there was anything she could do and the midwife handed her a pair of gloves and my mum delivered her first grandchild!! dont think she expected that!!!!

When I was in labour had a contraction and they told me to push at the time my legs were in strups and as I pushed I kicked the midwife in the face my partner thought it was well funny I couldn't remember doing it

I can't think of any funny hospital/labour stories that happened to me right now, but the part above that was highlighted in bold.. thats brilliant lol

I was in labor with my son, who is 17 months old now, for what seemed a very long time. I couldn't have an epidural because I was too swollen and put me at risk of being paralyzed. I started contractions around 11:00 a.m. on a Tuesday started pushing around 9:00 p.m. and the doctor finally pulled him out at 7:00 the next morning. I remember asking her over and over to just cut him out but the funniest thing I said and I can't believe I said it was " Why can't we just lay eggs?" The doctor stopped in her tracks as well as the nurses and just looked at each other and we all started laughing. The doctor looked at me and said she had never heard that one before.

When I was delivering my daughter, I had been pushing for almost 1hr 30mins when I just lost all energy and thought I couldnt do it anymore. I then decided to start shouting to the midwife - Pull her out - Is she ready for you to pull her yet. To which the midwife replied, as soon as I see her ears I'll pull her. Sarcasm - not really appreciated at the time but I can laugh about it now lol

After I delivered my daughter we obviously had visitors and a friend of mine brought me a bottle of wine...why she brought it to the hospital is unknown lol...but anyways the hospital had just finished the new wing and we were being moved to it...well one of the nurses didn't know there was a bottle of wine in all the stuff and yea it went everywhere in the brand new room. It smelled like a bar in there all day. Oh and I don't even drink wine lol

With my youngest the nurse at the hospital didn't want to let me have gas & air because I wasn't dilated much. She said the doctor would want to take it off me after a few hours so I would be without it when I really needed it. She didn't seem to believe that I was in as much discomfort as I was. I won though and got the gas and air. Half an hour later the nurse rushed to check on me again as I was practically screaming with the pain and when she looked the baby's head was visible so I was rushed to the delivery suite and only just made it onto the bed before baby was born. I just hope the silly woman will believe mothers in future. She was right that I wouldn't have the gas & air six hours later as by that time I was on my way home with my new daughter!

when i went in to be prepped for a c section i left my bra and panties on because my boobs are uncomfortable without support and i was leaky from my water breaking so i had a pad on to keep me from sitting in a puddle and the nurse that was taking my vitals looked at me and said "You didnt get in this position with them on, now GET THEM OFF!!"

When I delivered my son my mom was in the room and she asked me if she could look b/c the head was coming out and of course i didnt care 500 doctors and nurses already seen it it seemed like but when she went to look my son came out and she got squirted with amniotic fluid lol!
