My daughter is 4 months old and 3 weeks. I just started giving her baby food stage 1. I was just wondering when i am supposed to switch to stage 2 and so on. Thankyou!

I agree with Elisha, i never touched the jar stuff and my daughter is also 8 months and now eats everything we eat. Tonight she is having roast chicken and vegetables.

We use Gerber and in the corner where it stage each one is explains it. Stage 2 is basically for an unsupported sitter, or one who can sit unsupported for a reasonable time. Then stage 3 is when they can crawl. The only real difference between it is how pureed they are. I made the mistake of starting with stage 2 but he was almost 6 months at the time because I just grabbed what was on sale (I was on lunch break) but he had no problem with it.
Plus those gerber containers come in handy for art purposes later.

Have you thought about making your own baby food. In my opinion, jar foods taste awful, and I NEVER gave them to my daughter. My daughter started foods at around 4 months and sated with homemade rice cereal, and then onto mashed potato and pumpkin. She is now a wonderful eater (at 8 months) and basically just eats what I do.
