Ok, I don't know about sexual positions but I heard the same thing about the sperm. Male sperm is stronger and faster and female are slower but last longer. So, I've heard to have sex 3-4 days before ovulation and then don't have sex again, the male sperm will die and the female sperm will be left. Google Dr. Landrum B. Shettles about gender selection, a friend did this and got the sex they wanted. Good Luck!

TRY THIS METHOD. I have been running a survey on here called "Gender Prediction thing" and you might wanna look it up to read everything I wrote and what replies I have received but here is a chunk from it. All of my friends swear by this method!

Age of Conception + Month you Conceive in = NUMBER - 1 = EVEN (GIRL) ODD (BOY)

P.S. My LMP before I got pregnant was the end of Feb 2009 but I KNOW I that I didnt have sex until Mid-March and I count it as that and not from Feb. Same as my friends.

Just thought you guys might want to know that.

sorry i don't really have any advice on the sex thing however i just had my second baby who is a boy. my oldest child is a girl. we found that a lot of the baby clothes we had in the cardboard could be considered uni sex which helped. In addition the only large item we had to buy was a car seat. the cot, basinet, and other bits and pieces were all reusable. we also only brought a couple of blue blankets to use when we go out. all the rest that we use at home are pink and purple, no one else has to know. we also use all the same girl towels once again no one else has to see. we found this a much cheaper way to supply thing for our son. good luck getting a girl. i'm pretty sure we concieved with the same position both times. i'm sorry to say i think it really comes down to natures choice. i wish you all the best in having a healthy, happy baby no matter what the sex.

Chinese calendar was wrong for me and my friend who was preg at the same time. Hers said boy and she got girl, mine said the opposite. sexratio.com is a good site but it can't help you conceive one gender vs the other. Timing and diet are most important according to in-gender.com

Ok, i just looked at the (stupid) chinese gender prediction calendar and i have to say, it is not correct. Sorry, but i was 21 when i conceived my baby BOY in october 2009 and the chart predicts ALL 21 year olds for that year would have girls, except for january babes. Not even close!!!

Don't make it a chore!! Enjoy having sexy with your hubby, the happier you and he are the faster it should be able to happen. My hubby and I did it in every way possible, me on top, him on top, laying on our sides with him behind, in the shower (don't try if not coordinated!!!!), outside (we live in the country so no neighbors). We were going at it at least 2 or 3 times a day, first thing in the morning, when we got home from work, before we went to sleep. Don't hop up right away. Stay still with him inside you for a couple minutes, this will help to keep his guys inside. We didn't use an ovulation kit or any other kind of method, friends of mine did all of that and they are still trying to get preggo. I think it puts too much stress on you as a couple, this is something you should enjoy and not really have to think too much about. I know that age also plays a factor in getting preggo, however I am 26 and my hubby is 39 and we got preggo very quickly (I think it was only 2 months after we started "trying"). I know that somebody else said not to reach the big "O" but I always did, I didn't feel satisfied until I had and my hubby and I worked together to reach at the same time.



It really somes down to you have to do what feels right for you guys.



If all else fails, go to the bookstore and look at the sex books!! They will give you some creative positions and maybe help your imagination. I never felt comfortable buying any of these books, but I will admit that I went and looked at them and then tried out some of what they said to do.



As far as being able to get a girl, there really is no sure way to guarantee, but stay positive and keep telling yourself it is a girl and you never know!!

Hi, this is gonna sound crazy, but have you heard of the Ancient Chinese Gender Prediction Chart? According to this chart, depending on your age, and month of conception you can know if you will have a boy or girl. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but the predictions worked for me and everyone I asked who knew, for sure, the month of conception. For some, it was too close to tell when they concieved (end or beggining of the month) Good Luck ! :-)



Ok, I just want to add that I'm not saying this chart is really accurate, I just thought it was funny and interesting that it worked for me and others I know and I wanted to share it with you...As others have mentionned in their posts, it did not accurately predict their baby's gender.

I agree with almost all of the above. We were successful using Shettles method for both a boy #1 and then a girl #2. I think the timing is much more important than the position... both of our children were conceived in the same position (seated).

sperm only survives for 72 hours or 3 days...so try having sex about 2 days before you ovulate, and then don't have it again for like a week or so! hope this helps!

hi as anyone trying to get pregnant it's not as easy when you really want one because you are trying to work out when you ovulate, with my first it took 7 months and i used an ovulating predictor kit that time to work out when i was ovulating and that was only 2 day's before ovulation we had sex and endded up with a boy. this time i thought i would try without the help but sometimes my period would be iregular so i used the opk and went to fertilitlyfriend.com to try and chart my day after that i found i was having sex on the wrong day's plus i wanted a girl to so i read that you need to have sex 3 day's before you ovulate so we did and now i found out i'm having a girl plus the morning sickness is another thing i never had that with my son so good luck but in the end if you end up with a boy you can allway's sell your girls clothes on ebay and buy second hand clothes since they grow so quick, plus i used the chineese lunar calender aswell i made sure i tried everthing possible because we don't have enuff room for more than two and that's all i want to .

have sex before you ovulate... so the sperm have to chill out in the tubes waiting for the egg. most of them are XX by that time because the XY's have died off. i cant help much on position wise, my daughter was concieved in a position that is very pro-XY sperm. one thing i did do tho was pray... and im not very religious. i made it clear to god that, though i would absolutly love any child he gave me, i really wanted a girl, and that if he thought i deserved it, i could have one... also my mom says that when she was pregnant with me (i have 2 older brothers) she would just visualize holding a baby girl in a pick bedroom, with very girly things around.

Contra what ???? I haven't used contraception in YEARS !!!! Hence how we got Ava ! Poor John, he finds this site rather intriguing, he doesn't understand the appeal. So when I told him about this post, he was rather ammused that we were all discussing his sex life. When I mentioned the info about sexual positions you could just see his brain ticking over "oh the possibilities" ! Poor boy. Maddie, Ava and I miss you already btw :(

However, in all seriousness, you need to go off the contra now and start charting your cycle so you know when you ovulate so you can avoid sex up to 3-4 days before ovulation, otherwise trust me, you'll have a boy. You have sex every 2 days from about day 5 to day 9/10 then you abstain or wear a rubber. Also, you can get john to get a sperm count which will tell you pretty accurately what your chances are of conceiving a boy or girl, and in the mean time you can get him to wear tightly fitting jocks to warm up his swimmers, as warm swimmers mean girls and cool swimmers mean boys. I have read missionary is the best position for girls because doggie deposits the sperm right on your cervix, which you dont want; you want them to have to work a little harder.

Studies show that low pH favors girl conceptions. The goal of the girl diet is to increase calcium and magnesium in the cm and to change pH; the goal of supplements is to change pH and make cervical mucus have a 'creamy' appearance. Here are all the supplements that I have heard of for ttc a girl. Granted there may be more. They key here is for you to find the right 'recipe' to make low pH with creamy cm with calicum mixed in- this is the goal. Remember.. it is better to take supplements in liquid form if you can find that because it is more easily absorbed by the body



SUPPLEMENTS

* Supplements amounts listed here are the maximum amount for dw and dh. This isn't based on weight but more so on safety.



Calcium citrate (1200 mg combined with diet every day) take from af to af (can stop at O if you want to save money) calcium in the cm helps to sway for a girl (to prevent low ionic strength cal and Mag ratio has to be 2 to 1. If you have a digital pH tester don't worry about this) (not calcium carbonate)
Magnesium (300 a day combined with diet!)take from af to af (can stop at O if you want to save money) Mag. in the cm helps to sway for a girl
Folic Acid (450 mcg a day)** you can take more of this if needed and be safe!! Take all the time THIS DOES NOT SWAY! IT PREVENTS BIRTHDEFECTS AND PREVENTS MC
Acidilophis (2 a day) take from af to af (can stop at O to save money) This is taken to lower pH. side effects: this is a funny supplment. Either it will lower your pH dramaticaly or you will raise it. It is different for different people
B6 (100 mg a day) If taken before O it may delay O. But for those that it doesnt delay o, take all the time, but when you get a bfp you need to ween off slowly- if you take 100 this means the next week you take 80, then the next week 60 then 40, 20, 10 then stop. This is taken to raise progestrone and legthen luteal phase. Side efffects: When taken before O it may dealy O. It will also legthen your luteal phase

Cranberry (total of 1,500 to 10,000 mg fresh fruit equivalent a day if possible. This is based on equal to fresh fruit equivalent.. not amount on bottle. This part can be tricky. So, 10,000 ml equivalent to fresh fruit) take from af to O (stop at O) this is taken to lower pH side effect: cranberry can not be taken after O as it can cause mc. Cranberry is a blood thinner so if you already taking a blood thinner do not take this.
Lydia Pinkham (take from af to O) this is taken to raise progestrone and regulate cycles side effect: This will either make your cycles regular or screw them up

Vitamen C- 500 mg -af to af (can stop at O to save money) in pill forum this makes you more acidic. (to much can cause gas and diarrhea)

Saw Palmetto standardized -320mg a day (thats one pill a day)- Make sure to buy the standardized kind. Take from AF to O.. not to be taken in the 2ww or with pg! This lowers testrone, lowers estrogen and rasies progesterone. Do not take this with Clomid. There are some warnings so please read the warning sticky. For more info please read this


Before sex
Sudafed (not pe) real drug name is: pseudoephedrine: (a few hours before sex) this is taken to lower pH and dry up cm

Husband take


licorice root 450mg 3 times a day- lowers testosterone and raises estrogen (this is good for dh not for dw). Only have him take from your af to O. He needs the 2ww for a break. Can only take for up to 6 months then he needs a 2 week break (have him follow this 2 week break after the 2ww break so he will total a 4 week break). There are some risks. Read this

Some people are using refresh/replens finger to lower cm pH. This is all based on an environment theory that an acidc one produces girls.. Also Oing will raise female pH so avoid this .For ttc a girl you should use the following products because they have been found to lower female testosterone (which favors boys) Nail polish remove, Nail polish, and anything with Aerosols.

For dh he needs to wear tight fighting underwear. He also should try to get on the girl diet and he needs to lower his semen pH to a 7-7.5. He can lower pH with cranberry supplements. His pH can be changed quickly with these- he should take as much needed the day before bd to achieve low pH . Finally, sperm count is highest in the morning so try to time bd at night. New info suggest that you want low blood sugar in the mornign when ttc a girl. So avoid carbs in the morning. Also cardio sways girl while weights sway boys.

Alkalive (also called pHion) and full range (also called universal). These are found the cheapest on ebay (search pH strips then select lowest to highest price.) Alkalive can measure between numbers like a 4.75 but can be hard to read so you need a back up. The full range strips will only read one number- no between but they are very easy to read. DOUCHING

An hour before sex
7% Vinegar/calcium and some drops of distilled waterwater (pH of 4)

Lime and water (pH of 2)
Replens or Rephresh vaginal moisturizer (every three days or every other dayonly and only a fingertip full- not the entire applicator!) You can also use this in place of douche 2 hours before attatmp (but not the entire applicator)



How to douche: The hour before you can either use a store bought douche bag or a big syringe (12+ml). Let is run out and wash away ewcm. The 1/2 hour after follow up douches is only 1-3ml. This follow up douches are ment to just lower pH. You do not need to douche an hour before if you have a pH of 4-4.5

WOMAN ON TOP. That is the suggested position for conceiving a girl baby by Dr Shettles. Also it is better if the woman does not reach the big O, it favors boy making. Have sex 3-4 days before suspected ovulation and have your hubbs take a hot shower before making love- it lessens his amount of male sperm. Try this site for many many tips on gender selection when TTC. in-gender.com - check out their forums they have tips on there on how to increase your likelyhood of having one gender over the other.

BTW having sex doggie style or on the day of ovulation (within 48 hours) increases the chances of a boy!! According to shettles and it was true with my little one.

ok you know theres no reall accurate way except sperm harvesting and washing , which currently no insurance policy covers if you already are under fertility treatment

Hi Jess... How exciting...I wanted to have a little girl when i found i was pregnant with my last baby... I was just lucky that i got one!! I would also like to have another girl and would like to bend the odds in my favour also!! I have 3 boys and 2 girls and would love my last baby to be a girl to even my family out..:) So i found out that if you have sex 3 days before you ovulate and then dont have sex again it will increase your chances of having a girl because the female sperm live longer than the male sperm and so when you do ovulate there should only be female sperm left waiting for the egg!! Also the deeper he is in you when you have sex is suppose to help too... so try doggy style..:) You could also look up a website called GENSELECT it is quite helpful with a 94% success rate...I also looked up the chinese prediction calender and all my babys were right except for my twins!! Who knows if any of it works...really i think we all have a 50/50 chance of getting either a boy or girl... But its definatly fun trying... Have fun and good luck...Let us know how it goes... :)

check out the book "taking charge of your fertility", It will help you figure out when you are going to be ovulating... and if you are waiting 4-5 months that will allow you to track your cycles a few months before hand.

I've also heard that sex before you ovulate increases your chances of a girl, of course nothing is ever guarenteed. funny thing is I read my Chinese prediction for the sex of my baby based off when you got pregnant and your age when you get pregnant, and it said I would have a girl.... and I ended up having a girl...kind of funny!

To answer Mikayla's question, if I have a boy it wont be the end of the world. I have a beautiful little girl already, so I won't be shattered. It would just mean a tighter budget and having to re-buy things that I already have just in blue rather than hot pink ! Or asking girlfriends if I can borrow some of there boy stuff. I want 4 kids, so I'm bound to have a boy at some point in time. Just want to increase the odds in my favour if at all possible. And then in the future once the car is paid off I can go forth and produce sons until my heart is content !

I've read things similar to what Trove said as far as timing it with when you ovulate. Have no idea how accurate it is but I've read it several places. If you can get a good idea of when you ovulate (temping, checking cervical position/mucous) maybe try having sex 2-3 days before then. Sperm can live in your body for several days and if its true that "female" sperm last longer than male ones, that might increase the chances that the sperm that makes it will be an x. Who knows, maybe we'll try that next time since we'll be hoping for a girl!

i watched a programme on women who wanted a girl, most of them had tried everything they came across that said the chances of having a girl were higher, but they had a boy, some of them tryng 8 times for a girl but ending up with boys everytime, its ok to 'try' for a girl, but at the end of the day unless u do it artifically, u can never be sure it will be a girl, so i think you should think about how u would feel if you was to have a boy.

Also when you ovulate. If you have sex before and the sperm must "hang around" for a few days the male sperm wont survive. Have never tried this but know I have read it somewhere. But cant remember how many days before you ovulate. Perhaps do a bit of googling. Know I found a website that helps you determine when you are ovulating. Good luck.
