Help! My 4.5 month son will not sleep in his Cot!

My son is now 4 1/2 months old. I usually give my son his last bottle at 9oclock, he falls asleep in my arms every night but when i go to put him in his cot he wakes up straight away and looks up at me, bright as a button! I feel like ive only got myself to blame for this. When he was around 3months old if he woke up during the night i would take him into my own bed, is it my fault that he will only sleep if he is lying beside me and not in his cot?? I feel like a zombie right now, i really want him to sleep in his own cot and be able to sleep through the night. Im not getting any sleep at the moment.

How long have you been trying to get him to sleep in his own bed? When we moved my boy out of our room and into his it took about a month for the transition to work. We first had him sleep in his car seat then moved him out of it and into his bed. When he takes naps does he do it with you or do you put him in his bed? We found and this is just us that when we started putting him in his crib during naps he started to realize it was his bed and now is fine in there.
