You can put Dark Karo Syrup in the bottle...like maybe 1tsp...then you can also start giving juice. That will help alot...Or have you tried feeding prunes since he/she is on baby food?

try prune fruit first, but yes you can use a q-tip and gently put pressure on, don't stick the q-tip up inside. That should stimulate her to have a pooh. If not, talk to a pharamcist or go to the doctor and they can give suggestions

My mom's a nurse and she said if you babu hasn't pooped in quite a while, you can try and take her rectal temperature. This will stimulate the baby to go potty. However, make sure you know how to take a temp. rectaly. No mercury or glass thermoeters are okay. If you use a digtial, only put it in up to the silver tip part. Basically, barely put it in at all. If there is any doubt you can do it correctly, please don't attempt.

Thanks! =)

my daughter was also having this trouble she is nearly six months now... & what i did to help her was put sorbolene cream on the end of a q tip and laid her on her side with her leg as close to her tummy as possible then gently helped he open her anus with the q tip... I know it sounds terrible but it was the only this i could do to help cause she screamed in pain for about 2 hours before i did this, & this only seems to work for immediate relief, to prevent add pears & apples to her diet) & this was recommended to me by the nurse at my local GP... good luck

yeah heapd of water between feeds, prune juice with water is also recommended, stay away from rice cereal it has iron in it which causes constipation, use apple or orange juice if you like and give pureed apple and pear. use vaseline on a cotton tip every time you change the nappy, give lower tummy massage in a circular motion, warm bathss, 5-10 mills extra water when making up the formula , change of formula or suppositories if absolutely necessary. you can buy stool softeners from the pharmacy such as coloxyl drops. or try raw sugar about half a tea spoon in a bottle
