My son, when naked, is completely potty trained. As soon as I put clothes on him, he potties in them. We have been working on potty training for a little over a month now, and he does absolutely amazing, when he gets to run around naked. He usually doesn't tell us when he has to go, he just goes to his potty and does his business. If he poo's he does come and tell us afterwards, so we can clean his bottom. He does wear either a pull up or diaper at night time, but 9 days out of 10 it will be dry when he wakes up, only potties during the night if I give him something to drink too late. I am definitely at my wits end at what to do now, since he just potties in his clothes when he is wearing them. He is a very smart boy, can talk in complete sentences, etc. He started going on his own when he is naked, so I know he is ready. He will be 3 in December.
Has anyone else gone through this? What did you do?

Oh, also, once he is FULLY potty trained, he will probably still need an overnight for a long time to come. Also, when they are completely potty trained, when you least expect it, sometimes they revert back and pee and poop in their pants again. Just be patient. If it happens, it will pass.

Sounds like he is doing awesome! Keep up the great work. It has ONLY been 1 month. It can take MONTHS for them to be completely potty trained. He just needs to get used to the difference between what a diaper used to feel like, and that when he has cloths on, it is not the same thing as a diaper. I agree with Vicki, that is what I did with my son. Just put undies on him. It is very uncomfortable to pee and poop in them...not like a diaper at all. This worked for my son, along with doing the naked bit. I would just keep going along with it, and don't show your frustration, it could easily set back all the hard work you have both accomplished.

My son had this stage, although briefly. I just kept putting undies on this (without trousers at first) and cleaning up/changing them as needed. He soon worked it out. No more hints than that really since it worked for us!
