What did you do to start your contractions? Anything or did you just let it happen naturally?
I was told that a baby comes out the same way it went in, that sperm was a natural stimulant that starts your uterus to contract. One day of a horrible back pain a week before my daughter was due I popped in an R rated movie and two hours later I went into labor.... Is that horrible?

housework and lots of it. nurses also told me to have sex but i didnt. i was 39 weeks just on when i gave birth

We have my stepdaughter every fortnight at weekends and she really wanted me to go into labour the weekend she was here so we looked online. I'd been drinking raspberry leaf tea already but tried the pineapple, sex, curry, driving over speed bumps and bumpy roads etc etc. In the end we resorted to stamping up and down the stairs together trying to bring it on. And going up and down stairs sideways, jumping (well, as much as you can jump when 9 months pregnant). Went on for hours on the Saturday evening! We ended up taking my stepdaughter home on the Sunday afternoon and at 3am on the Monday my waters broke!! Baby Thomas was due on the Monday and although my waters broke that morning, he didn't actually arrive until 3am Wednesday morning!! Anyway, it could just be coincidence that it all started after doing that but we still joke that we should have started jumping up and down stairs a day or two earlier so Rachel could have met her brother when he was born instead of 2 weeks later!! x

I too tried it all (raspberry leaf tea, castor oil. sex, pineapple, exercise) without success. My little man made his debut when he was ready.

lol...i never would have thought to do that but i wouldn't say that is a horrible thing to do. Each to their own. I tried everything to get into natural labour - drank raspberry leaf tea, went for lots of walks, had sex (well...awkward sex anyway...haha), cleaned the whole house from top to bottom and STILL 10 days after my due date, my lttle girl STILL had to get induced!!!!!! Nothing worked for me no matter how hard i tried LOL
