How do I get my baby on a feeding schedule?

My baby is 7 weeks old and was born at 31 weeks. He was in the nicu for 6 weeks and I just recently got to bring him home. At the hospital they put him on a feeding on demand schedule and he loves to be awake all night to eat.. I guess what I want to know is how do I get Luke on a feeding schedule and when hes on a feeding schedule will he eat the same amout everytime??? He goes between 2 to 3 oz every 3 hours but sometimes only want an oz and wakes up before the 3 hour mark...

My Daughter is seven weeks old aswell and i tryed a feeding scedual with her but it was pointless. Babys have a mind of there own just like adults think about it we dont sleep, eat and pee when were told to. We sleep when were tired, we eat when were hungry and we go pee when we feel the need. As soon as i stoped trying to push a scedual on my daughter she started sleeping through the night and she eats every hour during the day. I wish you good luck with Luke and i hope he starts sleeping and eating well for you it will bring down your stress level majorly. ! :)

you won't really be able to get him on a schedule until he is atleast 3-4 months old and even then he may decide to change it on you. It is best for him right now to be fed on demand. Don't worry though he will be on a schedule and sleeping through the night before you know it.

at this age it is improtant to stay on supply and demmand at this time. ask for help from family so you can get some rest. it is imprtant not to time his feeds as he needs all he can get to stay healthy. hope this helps. dont worry he will skleep through the night eventually.
