How do you know if your baby is allergic to their formula...what are the signs and symptoms????

is he allergic to his fomula ????? my one month old son has had the ruins for 2 days now :( the er dr said might be his formula he drinks gentalease . so try soy ? idk im a first time mom and feel bad for my little man , having the ruins hurt :(( helpppppppppp

well i would no if something was wrong. intuition does she look healthy.you can somtimes tell by the eyes. try bio powderwhen washing her clothes, try using oilatum 4 the bath + eperderm for the spots rash. trust me this is brilliant get rid of anything on the skin exma dermititas all those things.ask ur doc bout this cream very good.

not sure if you still need help or not, but my daughter was the same. I was breastfeeding but she wasn't gaining enough weight so I was told to start formula b/c i didn't have enough milk. I went to a lactation consultant and was given Similac Alimentum which is a hypoallergenic formula. She agreed right away. We changed it to a milk based formula (Goodstart and also tried Enfamil A+) and with both she had bumps all around her face, severe gas and crying, and very loose watery bowel movements. As soon as we switched her back to Alimentum she was great again. If  you are finding that she is crying a lot and is excessively gassy it's possible she may have a milk protein intolerance. Both Alimentum and Nutrimigen are for this type of allergy. She  can grow out of it, but its good not to use milk formula's if you are finding an allergy/intolerance. The pediatrician also said to use the Ready to Feed until 3 months not powder, but it is costly. We are still on ready to feed b/c they don't sell the powder Alimentum in Canada.  She is doing great, no gas or fussiness at all due to feeds. She is now 4 months old, and we started her on it at 10 weeks.

It could be baby acne, but i would try Enfamil Gentelease, that is for babies with fussiness and gas. Everytime my 11 month old has similac advance formula she gets red rashes on her head, to this day i'm not sure if she's allergic to it or not. But she gets rashes with any type of formula. And it's ok if it's 1 to 2 days before your daughter takes a poo. My daughter didn't go for 4 days once. As long as it before 5 days, you're safe. Try giving her some sips of water too, if your baby is at least 6 months, that will help her go too.

my son was lactose intolerant and everytime he drank regular formula his face would break out in those little bumps you were talking about, but when i changed him to soy formula after a week or two the bumps stopped showing up. so the bumps were a sign for my son

my daughter had terrible reflux for almost 2yrs before they decided she has allergy to dairy products

The same thing happened with my son. It turned out he was milk protein intolerant. I was nursing, so I just had to cut all dairy out of my diet. A lot of babies that are intolerant to milk protein are also intolerant to the soy protein.
You may have to try another formula- talk to your doctor because there are also prescription formulas for sensitive babies that can't take the soy formula.

Unless it is a severe allergy, most babies outgrow this. It just takes a while for the digestive track to mature.

Yes her BM's does have little seedy things in it, and she has a BM's everyday only if i add Karo to her bottle if i dont she sometimes wont have a BM for 1 or 2 days if i dont put the Karo in.

She is extremely gasy, and she doesn't really throw up but spits up after a feeding...and she is fussy for absolutly no reason some times and it is getting a little harder to feed her now.

my daughter started having problems with her formula about that age...rashes, spitting up, & constantly hungry...i tried her on soy, but it caused her to b spitting up still & constipation...i have had her on parents choice gentle for the last 5 months with no problems...she is sleping better, no more fussy or spitting up or constipation...we are both much happier...hope this helps! good luck!
