I haven't used pampers, but use huggies and I have had a kinda rule for myself that I change him before every feed/bottle if he's only wet. That seems to have worked well for us for the past year and he's never had nappy rash :-)

[deleted account]

I dont use name brand diapers i use which ever ones are the cheapest but i change everytime its pooped and whever i see that the pamper is puffy like if she looks like she's fixin to float away!! haha. But if you are worried about rash i put vaseline on her butt which protects against rash but u have to use diaper rash cream to heal rash if baby gets one cuz vaseline doesnt its just a preventive methog. havent had a problem thus far. for me i wouldnt change after every pee ( cuz really iwouldnt even kno) just cuz youll be wasting the pamper and going thru money for them like crazy. Pampers are made to suck it up so that they wont be so uncomfortable and so that they are not just sitting on pee the whole day with that being said you shouldnt have one pamper on baby the whole day! cuz thats just really unhealthy and unfair to baby.

Maybe try some G-diapers! They are a little pricy but works like a cloth and looks like a diaper...as for the diapers I change my guy like every 2-3 hours...I cant keep up with how often he wets it..I can only tell when it is supper soiled so I try to catch it before it gets too bad...at night he goes 9 hours without a change...the diapers are supper absorbant!

i also always use huggies, but if im in a bind then i will use pampers, and i would alwasy change him every hour and a bit, be cause he would get a rash if i didnt but if its ur first time using regular disposable diapers, then change her every hour at least, adn then after a while u will notice how often to change her, its like the feeding and sleeping routines, it will just take some time

All diapers should be changed as soon as possible after baby wets or has a bowel movement; some babies have sensitive skin and, most babies just seem to hate that "soiled" feeling. Babies should never purposely be left unchanged (soiled) for any length of time.

My little Hailey is almost four and, to be honest, I keep her in her diaper until she tells me she wants to be changed, I honestly could not care is she stayed in her diaper for over three days, well, depending on when she went potty in them. If they are clean, I don't see the problem, I don't even see the problem if they were dirty, aslong as she does not stay in them for too long, or, leak. Plus she looks cuter in a full/used diaper anyways, especialy when she waddles, well, she always waddles in a diaper, but, it's just not the same as a full/used diaper.

i do every 3-4 hours...my daughter is now 1 1/2 and doesnt pee as often as she used to. lol....before i was doing every 3 hours religiously...like every time she would eat I would change her first. I did always leave my daughter in the same dipaer at night from right before bed to when she woke up the next morning. that's like 10 hours now...

I didnt like pampers once my daughter could move around. I liked diapers that had the wrap around waist like huggies do. I buy an off brand called Kirkland from Costco.

i have always used huggies and it depends. if they are pooey straight away. if it's a little bit wet no, waste of a good nappy. if it's heaps wet yes. he's never had a rash either. disposables aren't meant to be changed as soon as the kid wees once.

some dr say you should not leave a baby in a soiled (wet or dirty) for more than 20 minutes but as soon as i notice my baby is wet or dirty I change her. Sometime if you leave them in a soiled diaper they can get either a diaper rash or a yeast infection and my be more proned to getting those things easier and longer.

I've never used it. I'd just rather wait until he's ready to be potty trained

I use huggies because my little one seemed to pee right through Pampers and he was changed often. I change him as soon as I notice he's wet or before every feeding and after every nap and of course as soon as he's done pooping

WIth both my kids I've changed them with every feed and whenever they've pooped I changed them immediately after. Works out to be every 3 hours or so.

Change it when it is wet or dirty, or if you have not changed it for 3 hours.

Personally, I have found my daughter will pee through the pampers. The "max dry" are on a kind of trial as to whether the chemicals in them actually cause rash/burn on babies.
I personally go with huggies. Every 2 hours is a pretty good standard. I check every time I pick her up or think I smell her. There is a classic "drop" that happens in the diaper that you can physically see when they have wet it and it's full too.

don't worry about waking baby to change the diaper...put some a&d on before bedtime to keep the skin protected and change when awake.

I check every 3-4 hours. But mine is also a year old and pees about that often. I will leave it on if there is very little pee in it.

In the daycare center where I worked we changed diapers every 2 hours during the day.

My daughter sleeps 12 hours at night in a Pampers Baby Dry and I never wake her to change her.

I change my son's diaper as soon as I know he has wet it. Or at least before every nursing. If poops I change him as soon as I know he is done for the moment. I would never leave him in a wet diaper after I know he has wet it! When he was a newborn I felt like I was literally wasting diapers and changing him every 10 mins, which I might have been changing him every 10 mins. I've never left him in a diaper for more then 3 hrs.

I DO NOT LIKE HUGGIES BC THEY SEEM TO LEAVE LIL BALLS ON HER SKIN WHEN WET- SO I USE PAMPERS, LUVS, AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT I REALLY LIKE THE DOLLAR GENERAL BRAND---I CHANGE HER ATLEAST EVERY 2HRS- UNLESS SHE IS ASLEEP. SOMETIMES MORE- IF SHE FEELS SQUISHY- SHE GETS CHANGED JUST BC I WOULDNT WANNA SIT IN WET PANTS SO I DONT THINK IT IS VERY ENJOYABLE FOR HER EITHER. NOW IF SHE HAS A BM ITS A DEFINITE CHANGE RIGHT AWAY! THIS SEEMS TO WORK FOR US. BESIDES WHEN IT IS TIME TO POTTY TRAIN- IF SHE IS USED TO A DRY DIAPER- THEN SHE WONT LIKE IT WHEN IT GETS WET SO SHE WILL BE MORE LIKELY TO BE EASIER TO POTTY TRAIN.

i change my son about every 4-6 hours, hes 10 months old and we use pampers dry which can be lasted for 10 hours because we needed something for overnight when he sleeps. but i wait until the diaper is halfway wet(front to back). my son doesnt get rashes so it doesnt bother him

i'm a little confused...cloth diapers are more likely to keep your little one warmer. disposable diapers are pretty much just paper and chemicals...they won't keep baby warm.

I used to change my son's diaper whenever he was wet or had a poopy diaper. I just thought to myself how would i like it if i had to sit in a messy diaper LOL.

I usually change before every feed also (unless he pooped). That way, I know that I won't forget to change him. It just kind of becomes routine.

I have always changed my son as soon as I he's wet or dirty. He's prone to diaper rash, so if I change him quickly we have no issues.

on average for a 6 month old i would say every 2-3 hrs if just wet and (obviously immediatly if pooped) diapers like pampers are so advanced now that all the urine is soaked away from bottoms and not sat next to the skin x
