LOL:) I was in labour for 10 1/2 hours with my first, it was a good labour, i didnt tear, but man was i tired afterwards. I was expecting to be in labour for at least 18 hours, so that was a nice surprise. And time seemed to fly by, especially the first 6 hours:)

No, you definately are not the only one who had to endure never-ending labor. I was in labor for 39 hours and I pushed for 2 hours before my son was born. I wasn't even dialated fully but I just couldn't wait any longer so the doctor told me to push before we decided to do a c-section and he finally was delivered.

seems like the inductions went quick for a lot of people! i was induced as well for pre eclampsia so the combination of the two had me in labor for only 4 hours and I probably got her out in 5 pushes!

My water broke with my 1st one at 15 til 12 midnite and I wasnt in hard labor until about 3:30 am and she was out with 4 big pushes (no meds) at 5:48 am that morning!..That one was a breeze and my 2nd was an emergency csection so there was no labor pains with her.

It was 50 hours from my first contraction to seeing my daughter, and that was after failed forceps, manual rotation, epidural etc and ended up with an EMCS!!! Really going to take some persuading if my husband wants her to have a sibling!!

Well you ladies are not going to like me. I was only in labor for 1 hr and 20 min. 7:20 pm. to 8:40pm. Water broke at twenty after Seven and she came out at Eight Forty. When my water broke at 7:20 , I got to the Hospital 20 min later and when they checked me I was already 8cm. But there is one catch she was supposed to be delivered by c-section, because she was breach. She came out vaginally without any drugs. Four pushes and she was out. Mind you she was only 18 inches long and 6lbs. Also 3 and a 1/2 weeks early.

I think I had the labor all mothers dream about! Got to the hospital at 630pm in labor, the nurses got me ready to go and started to push at 730pm and pushed for 27 mins with NO drugs. This was my first child too.

Basically, I was in labor for a total of 45 minutes...I went into the hospital prior for three days due to a kidney infection. By the third day I started to dilate, they induced me..I fell asleep for two hours and when they woke me up I was fully dilated and supposedly my contractions were hard and close together. I couldn't feel them because they had to give me an epidural due to my kidney infection. Next thing I know they say push...I pushed four times and he was out! Sorry for those who's labor was much worse....but if you've ever had a kidney infection and nine months pregnant...it was the worst pain ever.

It took me ages to even go into labour! I went into hospital on a tuesday to be induced. This happened first thing in the morning. I was supposed to go back for a second dose that afternoon, only to be told when I got back that they couldn't do it as they had just been notified that the hospital's water would be getting turned off over night due to renovations and they didn't want more people than necessary to go into labour. They checked me out anyway, to see if the gel I'd had that morning had had any effect. It hadn't. Wednesday morning I had it again, then again Wed afternoon. Still nothing. Thursday, same thing. Not to mention it being totally undignified, uncomfortable and painful! They told me that if nothing happened they would have to send me home and try again in a few days, as apparently they can't give you the gel mor than 3 days in a row. Fortunately, when I woke up early friday morning, my waters had broken. That was about 5 am. About 9 am they took me to the delivery room, and she had had a bowel motion in the amniotic fluid so I had to have a heart trace monitor on for the whole labour, which meant being flat on my back (very painful for me as I had a bad back) and not being able to move around at all, except once when they unhooked me from it all so I could have a shower. Since my waters had broken, they were able to put me on a drip to bring on the contractions, which wasn't too bad for most of the day - then after lunch they started to get very strong, and a bit later on extremely painful. Then all of a sudden, a bit after 5 pm baby's heart rate dropped very suddenly, to about half what it had been all day. They examined me, found I was still only 4 cm dilated and decided to do an emergency caesar. She was born at 5.47 pm, and was fortunately absolutely fine. No idea how long I would have been in labour for if they hadn't done the caesar since even the drip wasn't hurrying things along - only making the contractions too intense to bear, and not helping me to dilate at all. I can't help but wonder what would have happened if I'd just let it all progress naturally and not been induced....? I just have this feeling it would have been a lot easier. Guess I'll never know now.... So anyway, in short - I guess I was in labour for about 12 - 13 hours, but in that time I only dilated 4 cm, so if not for the caesar, who knows how much longer it would have been? The worst thing about an emergency caesar is that you have the pain of labour, but then you have the recovery period of having a caesar.

my labor was only 4 hours, and i pushed my son out in 3 big pushes. it was a drug-free (natural) waterbirth assisted by a midwife who allowed me to get into all kinds of positions in the tub (as opposed to lying on my back in a hospital bed). the warm water and the drug-free element, in my opinion, is the reason i delivered so quickly and the reason i only had a very small vaginal tear that healed very quickly. i highly reccomend waterbirths and, if there are no health-complications, a drug-free birth!

I was in labour for 56 hours!! Unfortunately my son decided he wanted to wait for the bank holidays to arrive!! I started labour on Good Friday and as there was a shortage of midwives over the easter break I got sent home 3 times! By the time they eventually admitted me I was too far gone to have any pain relief!! I eventually had him on Easter Sunday... and my husband wonders why i'm not ready for another one!! lol

I consider my self lucky. I was in labor for only about 7 hrs. I knew some one when they went into labor it was for 3 days. Finally she had a c-section. She was doing a home delivery!!! To me that is too long. I got an epidural at 8 cm. My contractions though were back to back. That what the worst of it not rest time im between them. I did tear just a bit but not bad. Also the Dr. had to turn her she was not facing right and that caused back labor.

Wow! Seems like everyone had rather long labor. Well, mine was only 2 1/2 hours from time water broke to when my daughter was completely out. And she is my first child. Once I got to the hospital, I went from 2 to 9 cm. in like 45 minutes. I had no epidural, but they started the IV drip thing Nubane, so while I felt like I was floating, I still felt all of the pain. I only pushed for like 15 minutes or so and she was out. It was an experience.
